Our business is a DIY print studio and our service is renting out specific working stations in our studio. These specific working stations cannot be used by more than one person at a time. I've created a service for each workstation, but need them to be available in three different time slots: morning (9am - 1pm), afternoon (1pm - 5pm) and full days (9am - 5pm).
Throughout the week, we have different business hours, from Monday to Friday we maintain a regular 9am - 5pm schedule, but on Saturday's it's 10am - 5pm.
I cannot set the services correctly, because if I set them as 4h, I cannot book them for a full day, but if I set them as 8h, I cannot book them on Saturdays as it's only a 7h workday.
Is there any way I can work around this, without having to create multiple services for each time slot, and a separate service just for Saturday? It would be way too confusing for our clients to book their preferred slots and workstations.
It would be much preferred if time slots can be set separate from services in the business hour settings.
Could you please clarify what is the actual Service duration in this case? Do your Customers book one Appointment for 4 hours straight away?
The thing is, Services aka Appointments are being defined by the Service's duration, while an Event has a predefined time and date set up. Thus, maybe Events could be a better solution for your business.
Thank you for your response. The actual services our company has are as follows: we're a DIY studio for printmaking (silkscreen, etching, etc). We have several working stations for various techniques in our studio, our clients book a spot at the working stations for them to work by themselves. This can be booked in two slots, a half-day (either 9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm) or a full-day (9am-5pm). On Saturdays we don't open until 10am, so then the slots change to 10am-1pm, 1pm-5pm, or 10am-5pm.
We have around 10 working stations, where each one is only usable by 1 person at a time. When a client books the full-day, the half-day slots should disappear from the booking possibilities. When a client books a half-day, only the other half of the day should remain available. Since we have multiple workstations, events wouldn't work for us, as we then have daily events (if that makes sense) and that would stand in the way of our actual events (expositions by the artists that worked in our studio, or workshops that we host sometimes).
So, the client books either a half or full day in advance, and chooses their preferred workstation beforehand as well.
The service must have a pre-defined duration, if you want to have 4 hour hervices you need to set the duration to 4 hours, if it is 8 hours it has to be 8 hours and the employee's work hours need to be set accordingly.
The only workaround I can think of is setting the service duration to 4 hours and then adding additional 4 hours as an extra to the service so the customers can choose if they want the full day or only half.

Hi, Amber,
Thank you for choosing Amelia.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
