Hi,
I have set up Amelia so customers do not get a WP role. I just want them to be able to login from the link that is sent to them when they book a session. I am using the %customer_panel_url% but when I create a test and open the link (in an Incognito window), they are brought to the customer panel and it asks for Email and Password(no password was in the email. Just a link to customer panel). If I enter a password it says 'incorrect email or password'. I want to make this completely automated so that when a client books a session, they receive the email with a password and can see all their bookings, etc.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any help.
Hi, Kevin,
Thank you for choosing Amelia.
In Amelia, Customers don't receive login credentials for the Customer panel. They receive a link to the "Create password" page instead.
Please note that the link to the Customer Panel needs to be added as a Placeholder %customer_panel_url% in the "Appointment Approved" notification template. The "Customer Panel Access" email template is only sent when a customer requests the password reset through the panel. Thus, once your customer books his/her first appointment, they will receive the Customer Panel URL as well.
Also, please make sure that you use an email address that wasn't used in Amelia before while testing the Customer panel (since the link is a token and it shows the page according to the User's role).
Best Regards.
Hi Liza,
I have embedded the %customer_panel_url% in the approval email. I tested again with a different email and get the same result (see attached)
Here's the content of the approval email:
Also, is there a way for a client to create an account before booking?
Kevin,
Please note that you have to book a test Appointment under a test Customer to receive the correct link.
If you just send a test email notification, you will receive a common login link, not the "create a password" link.
Best Regards.
I did book a test appointment. I was just showing you what the email looked like.
Kevin,
That's why I mentioned the test Appointment since the email notification that you provided in your reply looks like a test notification (no placeholders are filled with the Customer's data).
I can book a test Appointment on your site to test the notification as well if you'd like me to.
Best Regards.
that would be great. I just want to make sure I have it set up correctly.

Kevin,
Sure.
So, I booked a test Appointment (the customer's name is Amelia Test), and I received the link to the sign-in page, not to the sign-up one.
Could you please provide us with a temporary WP Admin login for further investigation? You can post credentials as a private reply to this ticket.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hi Kevin
I am sure you are not an idiot, but we can all feel like that from time to time so it's ok
Customer account is being created in the moment of booking so unfortunately they will not be able to create an Amelia Customer account any other way.
