Assign 2 or more employees to an appointment?

How can we assign 2 or more employees to an appointment? I don't mean in the front end booking to choose who to use, but I mean we have appointments that require 2 employees to host it. So it means both employees are assigned to one appointment and the second one needs to be marked as busy so their services are not bookable when they are on the other appointment.

    Laurence,

    Thank you for choosing Amelia.

It can be achieved by connecting both Employees to the same Google or Outlook Calendar (for that, you should set up Google or Outlook Cal integration).

Thus, if one Employee is booked in Amelia, the other one will become unavailable for the same time slot as well.

Please note that in this case, your Employees will have to work in fixed pairs.

    Best Regards.

Thank you, but they will not always be needed in the same appointment. It depends on the appointment, how many people etc. Its quite common to have more than one employee in an appointment (for any service provider) so it would be good for your system to allow adding two people.

It's strange, because I can add more than one staff to an event, but not a service appointment? So you just need to allow the same multiple as you do for events.

It looks at the moment we will have to just manually block the second employees time out in their Day Off. But its not a day off, and it wont show them on the service on the calendar.

Or once a customer books an appointment that needs 2 or more staff, we have to delete that from the appointments, then add it as an event. its just extra unnecessary manual work due to the limitations. It doesnt make sense why you would only allow 1 for services, but can add more for events.

    Laurence,

Events and Appointments have different logic: Events are being performed at a fixed date/time, and Appointments are being performed at the available time slot according to the Employee's working hours. That's why adding this option would require some crucial changes in the code.

This feature is on our to-do list, but it won't be possible to implement it in the coming updates.

However, you can speed the process up by submitting a feature request on our website. Our developers work on the most requested features in the first place.

Also, I'm afraid, we have no other workaround for that at the moment - only the Google/Outlook Cal one.

    Best Regards.

    Hi,

I'm looking for this as well - has it been implemented?

We have a Massage (service) given to 2 clients at the same time and need 2 employees for this service.

    Can this be implemented yet?

    Thanks

    Hello Sven.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately, something like this is not yet possible.

I will add another vote to this feature suggestion, here, but I'll also ask you to cast your vote as well. The more votes a feature suggestion has, the more likely it will be developed sooner.

    Kind Regards,

This feature is required for our organisation also. We require two employees for a single appointment to introduce the second team member for handing over the project.

    I will up-vote

Thank you for your feedback, James.

We plan to include this in the future, but at this time I don't have an ETA.

I'm desperate for this functionality to be enabled. My site offer 2 booking slots 8-1 and 1-6 each slot should allow 4 bookings for the same engineer.

Hi there. It is coming up to 1 year since you have confirmed this will be a feature. Where is it on the roadmap and what is the ETA on the release?

    Thanks

    Hi again, James.

As mentioned before, we do plan to include it in the future, but I can’t specify an exact timeline because it's a very complex feature. Implementing this requires our developers to overhaul the entire codebase for Amelia. The current logic is built around the concept that one appointment equals one employee, and changing this without affecting other functionalities is quite challenging.

The process involves extensive coding, testing, and revisions to ensure everything works smoothly. It will take time to thoroughly go through the code, make the necessary changes, test everything, resolve any conflicts that arise, and then retest until it’s ready for release.

I understand you have expectations for when improvements and features should be released, but we have to balance many priorities. Some features are pushed forward faster than others due to various reasons.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
