Importing Events

We currently use the Event Espresso plug-in to book/manage our events. If we switch to Amelia, can we import the events from Event Espresso? Or will we have to re-enter each one?

    Thanks!

    Hi Carla,

thank you for reaching out to ussmile.png

At the moment, it's not possible to import data to Amelia, I'm afraid.

You can only import customers, you could do it manually, but it's a bit cumbersome. The CSV file needs to have a specific structure.

Is it possible to provide some help with SQL statements? What tables do we need to add data to? Because we have a big list of events to add in. Normally we use WP All Import, but looks like Amelia has its own tables and not using custom post types, so its not in WP All import.

    Thanks

    Hello Laurence

Amelia stores its data in around 47 wp_amelia_ database tables. They are dependent on each other, and adding a list of events in wp_amelia_events table would not be enough to import the events. You'd need to include wp_amelia_events_periods, wp_amelia_events_to_providers, and have all necessary data linked in there.

Our developers will be working on an import feature for users, but I don't believe they'll do something about custom events and services.

I'll forward this as a feature suggestion to them, but I'll kindly ask you to add it as a feature suggestion on this page. Features are pushed up on our "to-do" list when there are a lot of customers requesting those features, so having your vote as a customer can be beneficial to this feature being developed sooner.

    Kind Regards,

Ok thank you. We will have to try it as it would take too long to manually add all events.

We find Amelia looks great initially, but its not been built like WP plugins should be and just misses some of that crucial features you'd expect and so we need to use work arounds.

    Laurence,

Sorry for the delayed response, our support team is cut in half due to COVID-19 infestations. That’s why our response time has increased.

Since you've been with Amelia for some time, I believe you've noticed that we are constantly working on improving it. Unfortunately, it's still not perfect, but we are trying our best to add all the most requested features as soon as possible.

So if you have a couple of minutes, please suggest this feature on our website, as my colleague Aleksandar suggested below.

    Best Regards.
