I am a home inspector and need to be available in certain areas on certain days at certain times so I do not end up driving from one end of the county to the other on the same day.
For instance, I want to be available in New Smyrna Beach and Edgewater on Tuesdays and available in Ormond Beachside and Ormond by the Sea on Wednesdays. Is there a way to make a particular "location" open only on certain days and times?
The only way to do it, that I see, is to create multiple profiles for the "same" employee with each profile having availability on certain times and days. This starts to get cumbersome as now I have to create multiple email addresses for the "same" employee.
Actually, you can achieve this with one employee only, as long as your location times don't overlap.
Make both of these locations, in Amelia > Locations, then go to Amelia > Employees > Edit your employee.
Here, go to Work Hours.
Open up Tuesday, choose work hours and choose a location. Now, as you said that you need to be available on two locations for this same day you can do one f these 2 things:
- Make one unified location for New Smyrna Beach and Edgewater
- Make a schedule that will have half of the hours for New Smyrna Beach and other half for Edgewater (as I said unfortunately location times cannot overlap because employee can't be at two locations at the same time).
I want my appointment times to be 1 hr long with 30minute buffer after each one (my driving time between appts). I want my available appointment times to be 8, 9:30, 11, 12:30, 2, and 3:30. Every time I adjust something it messes other things up. My available buffer times change to just one hour increments, my scheduler shows start times on the quarter hour. Sometimes I luck into everything looking just about right and then I adjust one thing and the whole ting ends up messed up. Can you help me.
Have you set only buffer time after for the buffer? In this way your service will start at 8 as your work time starts then, first appointment will last 1 hour, and then buffer time after will kick in, making the next slot at 9:30.
I had it all set as you suggested and it still did not work... confusing. Then I discovered that if I set the Default Time Slot Step to 30 minutes in the General Settings area it all worked perfectly. Don't fully understand it but it is working. Does that make sense to you? What does the Default Time Slot Step do?

Is there another solution that I am not seeing?

Hi Ivana,
I am having a hard time.

Hi Neil,
let's see what can be done
Have you set only buffer time after for the buffer? In this way your service will start at 8 as your work time starts then, first appointment will last 1 hour, and then buffer time after will kick in, making the next slot at 9:30.

My apologies then, Neil; this is what I should advise (I was afraid that it would not work well including the buffer times).
Time slot step is a gap between two appointments; you can also use it to be able to set your service to start at less than an hour mark.
