I want to allow for double booking for some appointments.
The idea is that when a customer does not pay until, let's say 24 hours to appointment, i want to allow other users to book the same slot without deleting the original customer appointment.
I don't want to set default appointment status to pending, as i don't want to have to approve all other appointments one by one.
I'm afraid, at the moment it's not possible to make appointments available for double booking depending on the payment status.
If you use online payments, then by default they have to be completed in order to book an appointment, Amelia doesn't have an option to postpone payments. Thus, if your Customers don't pay right at that moment, they can't finish the booking process.
If you would prefer it to work in some other way, you can suggest that as a "feature request" here, or check if this request was already submitted and vote for it.
In my country, we have an alternative payment method for clients that don't want to risk sharing credit card or login details on a website. We generate a code that the client can then use to pay in an ATM or home banking, whenever he wants but Amelia considers it as paid at the moment the code is generated. This is very popular here, so I can't simply remove it from my site.

Well, there's a very popular payment method called iDeal in the Netherlands, and it's almost the only payment method Dutch ppl use to pay online. So, after we received some requests, we implemented it as a part of Mollie integration (it took us some time but we finally did it). Therefore, I wouldn't say it's impossible.
