From the backend I cannot make a manual reservation, recurring or not, when the appointment is already created, from "New reservation". In the event that I have to make a recurring reservation, the situation is very tedious because I have to book appointment by appointment. And many times they are recurrences of 100 appointments ...
On the contrary, clients can make simple or recurring reservations from the web, even if the appointment is already created.
As an administrator, I should have the option of being able to reserve more automatically. I am doing something wrong?
You're looking at the approach from a customer's point of view. It wouldn't be very convenient if you had 100 appointments created in the back-end, for the same appointment.
If a customer booked an appointment for a specific date and time, from the back-end you cannot create a new appointment during this time, so if you want to add new customers to this appointment, you need to locate an existing appointment, edit it, and then add a new customer to it.
When customers book from the front-end, they do just that - add themselves to an existing appointment.
I don't think I understand it or I expressed myself badly ...
My business is to offer recurring appointments for several months. The normal thing is that the client pays and chooses the appointments.
Sometimes, I have to manually book a client for 6 months. When the dates of those appointments are not created, there is no problem because it is easy to book all the recurring appointments. I go to the "reservations" tab and make a one-time recurring reservation.
The problem is when the appointments are already created. I have to add the client to all the appointments already created because the system does not allow a one-time recurring reservation to be made automatically from the "New Reservation" option.
I commented that from the client's perspective, when he is on the web making a recurring reservation, he can do it in one go and the system automatically adds it to all the hours that he has selected, although those hours are already created or not. The system just adds it.
That same process, I cannot do it in the backend, from the "appointments" tab and in the "new appointment" option. If the appointment is already created, the system forces me to make the reservation appointment by appointment. Instead of being able to make the recurring reservation in one go.
I am surprised that from the web (the client can easily make a recurring reservation), but not from the backend. I have to go appointment by appointment. And I do not know if there is any option in which the system allows me to do it automatically.
The clients shouldn't be concerned about the logic behind Amelia, and that's why when they book from the front-end, the plugin automatically adds them to existing appointments (if there are existing appointments), or creates new appointments (when the time slots are available).
That logic is executed programmatically, and it can't be executed from the back-end any other way than manually.
I will forward this to our developers, but I don't know if they'll be able to change the logic in the back-end.
Until then, you can open the booking from on the front-end from an Incognito window, and book the appointments instead of your customers. That will save time, and the plugin will execute all bookings automatically.
I am having the same issue! I have to book many appointments for my clients 3-6 months in advance. To make each appointment manually will take hours. A back-end means is necessary to fluidly make changes on the customers' behalf. This single item of inconvenience may prevent me from being able to continue with this software :(
As Aleksandar explained, this is the current logic of our plugin.
If some customers are already taking a time-slot, and there is more capacity available;
if a customer comes to book at front-end page - they will see the date and time slot available > and can simply book like that - they will be added into the group appointment.
But, from the back end > if there is already a group appointment, and some customers are in it > then you can't pick a customer to create a new appointment;
instead, you have to edit the existing group appointment > and add new customer(s) into it.
We have passed this suggestion to our developers - they will do their absolute best to achieve a solution for this,
but to be completely honest, to change this logic would require a very big overhaul of Amelia's logic, so we are not 100% sure if and when it will be possible to change the back-end booking logic.

For the time being, you can use incognito browser to book in the name of the customers from front-end, to save time.
We are really sorry for the inconvenience, and we will do our best to improve the plugin to cover all use-case scenarios.
Thank you for this feedback. Of course, don't hesitate to ask if you have additional questions, and you can always open new tickets for any new/unrelated questions. Thank you

Hello gestio
You're looking at the approach from a customer's point of view. It wouldn't be very convenient if you had 100 appointments created in the back-end, for the same appointment.

When customers book from the front-end, they do just that - add themselves to an existing appointment.

Thanks again and excuse my bad english.
Your English is quite good, no worries, gestio.
