Choices for Employee then book

    Hi Support,

I am building a Student Driving School Website and the Instructors(Employees) need selected first by a specific choice before Booking is being made. So for example if the student needs to drive Automatic or Manual then a Selection box of suburb (with postal code) - Once this has been selected then the option for the specific Driver(Employee) must come up. then the Booking can be clicked. Please see image attached for an example. Thanks

    Hi Steven,

thank you for reaching out to us!

Unfortunately, Amelia does not have geolocation, and locations (post codes) must all be created manually if needed.

Automatic and Manual can be created as Categories, so that they are selected before your services, however, selecting an employee would be a final step before choosing date and time.

    Hi Ivana,

If I create them all manually, is there away to add more than one location to the employee?

    Kind Regards

    Steven

    Hi Steven,

Yes, you can assign multiple locations to one employee.

However, please bear in mind that the employee has to have separate work hours for each location (as they cannot be present on 2 locations at the same time).

    Hi Ivana,

The issue with this is that the customers are the ones choosing the different locations at different times, and the driving instructors (employees) go to these locations at the times the customer picks. How can I add multiple locations for this?

    Hi Steven,

I apologize for the later response as we don't work on weekends.

You can see here in our documents how to set up Amelia Locations.

    I hope it helps 🙂

    Hi Ivana,

I'm not sure why you replied with this generic answer? Please re-read the whole thread, I clearly know how to setup locations my issue is that I need to setup multiple locations on employees but at any time not specific times. How do I do this?

  • [deleted] replied

    Hi Steven,

thank you for the kind replysmile.png

Locations can only be set as part of the fixed working hours, I'm afraid.

These work hours cannot be flexible at the moment, and employee can only have a certain set for 1 location at a time, as they cannot be in two places at the same time.

For example, your employee can work on location A from 8am - 10am, then on location B from 10am - 12pm, etc.

    Hi Ivana,

This is huge issue for me, I have completely finished the Driver School Website and the only thing left is this Multiple Locations issue. I understand that you can't have in theory you can't be in two places at once, but the serious issue here is the Customer is the one on the different locations and the employee just needs to drive to them, but as there are 5 different employee with different areas to cover( Some with the same areas) I will absolutely need this feature. How long would it take you and your team to develop this feature ?

  • [deleted] replied

    Hi Steven,

thank you for elaborating; in that case I may have another suggestion.

It's not an separate feature, but a combination of settings that you can manage in order to make this.

You could remove all Locations, and set up Custom Fields instead.

You can set up a custom field checkbox for the clients to choose a postal code (you can add postal codes of your desired areas for them to choose from as checkbox options), and set up a custom field text where they can enter their address.

This information will be available on the backend in Appointments tab.

    Hi Steven,

thank you for contacting backsmile.pngI apologize for the later response, as we don't work on weekends.

Yes, custom fields have their own placeholders; whenever you add a new custom field a placeholder with the ID number of that field will be added to the options in Notification templates.

If you have a lot of custom fields and you're not sure about ID, and you don't want to waste time going back to the Custom Field tab every time, you can open the list of custom field placeholders in Notification template, and hover over each one to see which one it is.
