I have a dataset uploaded into wpdatatables via an Excel spreadsheet. The data contains salaries by percentile, and I've been able to create some good tables and charts from the data.
What I'd also like to happen is for the user to be able to enter a number (a salary) into a search box, which would then query the wpdatatables data, and the user would then receive a result along the lines of 'Your salary is between the 80th and 90th percentile', for example.
Is there a way for users to query data uploaded into wpdatatables this way?
I don't quite understand what the table displays. Could you provide me with at least some screenshots of the table, so I have an idea of what you're trying to do?
The global search finds the data entered in the search, so it cannot display anything "in-between", it can only display the search item you entered.
So I'd like for a user to be able to enter their salary/age into a search box on the page, and for it to return in which percentile they lie. For example, if I entered a salary of £20,000 and an age of 35, the result would be that I'm between the 10th and 20th percentile.
Does that make sense?
This may require the use of a third party plugin to integrate with the uploaded data, and if that's the case, do you have any idea which plugin it'd be best to use?
I understand what you're trying to do, but unfortunately, it can't be done.
As mentioned in my previous response, global search finds the data entered in the search, and it finds only that. So, if you were to enter "32", it would probably return a part of the price (for example, if you have 23,258, since it sees "32" in there), but it would not return the row where you have "30-39".
I am not aware of any plugins that would allow this to happen. None of the add-ons we have would, for sure. You can include filters, individually per column, but using the global search, it can't be done.

Hi Aleksandar ,
Sure, I've attached a screenshot of the table.
