There are 2 ways you can create wpDataTables from an Excel file:
Create a table linked to an existing Excel file - this option allows the plugin to read the Excel file, which is stored in wp-content/uploads/YEAR/MONTH/ folder, and a table generated in that way is not editable.
Create a table by importing an existing Excel file - the plugin reads the Excel file at the moment when the table is created, and it creates a manual table from it, which is stored in the database. That table can be editable, but changes in it will not be reflected in the Excel file, or vice versa.
Unfortunately this is not possible. The only two possible options are the ones I mentioned in the previous email.
If you would like to see this implemented in one of our future releases please take the time to leave your suggestion following this link, and our developers will take it into consideration.
