Editing Events

We've discovered that editing events from the Employee panel is quite buggy.  We have hundreds of events scheduled each month (fitness classes) and if an employee needs to edit a time of the class, from their employee panel, a number of things have been happening.

Sometimes, the class is edited and works fine. Zoom creates a new room which is quite annoying, but I understand why this is.  However, on quite a few occasions this week, an employee will edit their event time, NOTHING ELSE, and the event will TOTALLY DISAPPEAR.  I've also had times that one event is edited, and it effects another event.  For instance, an event was moved from 5pmET to 2pmET on the same day.  This event completely disappeared but another totally unrelated event that was schedule the next day was somehow rescheduled and move to another time.  The employee never touched that event!

Because there is no real pattern to how this is happening, I can't give you a specific detail on how to recreate it, but it's happened about 20 times in the last month.  Now, we have to delete all zoom data, delete any affected event, and re-enter the entire schedule of events to make sure everything is correct.

This is a BIG BUG that needs to be addressed asap or else the option for employees to edit/change/add events should be removed until you can work this out.

    Hi, Jason!

Sorry to hear that you faced this issue.

Could you please tell if these Employees had only the Employee roles assigned to them? Since if there are Customers with the same email addresses as Employees have, or Admin accesses the Employee Panel, it can cause similar issues. So, only Employees with the Employee role can access the Employee panel.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

they are employee ONLY with only an employee login for the panel.

    Jason,

Could you please provide us with temporary WP Admin access, so we will look into the issue from the inside? You can post the credentials as a reply to this ticket, just make sure you use private mode.

We don't interfere with any data except for the plugin and, of course, we don't provide login details to a third party.

    Best Regards.

    Hey Jason

    Thanks for these videos!

I just had one of our developers look at them, and he's puzzled too. Since you're in LA, and we're in Central European time zone, we're 10 hours ahead, and it's pretty hard for us to be up at the same time, in order to troubleshoot this together.

Our developer will try to replicate this behavior locally based on your videos, but I'll ask you to send me the wp-admin (Administrator) user credentials, along with the database access credentials, so we can see what's going on on your website.

Also, it'd be great if you can clone your website?

If yes - I'll ask you to install the Duplicator plugin. It will generate a couple of files that you can send me (along with the log-in credentials), and then I can create an exact copy of your website, see what the issue is and try to resolve it.

The Duplicator plugin can export only up to 500MB of data, so if your site is bigger than that, please use the All-in-One WP Migration plugin.

Please note that the files will be too large to attach to the ticket, so you can upload them via wetransfer.com and just send me the link.

Just make sure to enable the PRIVATE response again.

    Kind Regards,

    Aleksandar Vuković

    Thank you Jason.

Our developer was able to replicate parts of this behavior locally yesterday, so I hope he'll make some progress today as well.

I suppose the duplicator files will be of use as well, so please send them next week. If I hear something useful from our developer in the meantime, I will let you know.

    Thank you, Jason!

I forwarded the ticket to our developers, and changed your response to Private, since you left it as a public response, available for everyone to see.

I'll get back to you as soon as I hear something from them.

Wanted to revisit this ticket.  We are still experiencing the same issues with the placeholder as described below.  At the moment, we are using the booked_customer placeholder, but that supplies the email and phone number to all our employees, which has already been an issue for us.  i'd like to go back to using the customer_name instead, but this keeps stringing all registrants together in the email.

    Has this been addressed yet?

    Hey Jason

It's fixed, and it's going to be included in our next update, but until then, you can replace the file "BookingAddedEventHandler.php" in ..wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/src/Infrastructure/WP/EventListeners/Booking/Appointment/ with the file attached to my response.

After that, purge all cache on your server, deactivate Amelia plugin and activate it again (it's recommended to purge cache after each plugin deactivation/activation, so you can purge cache again), and test it. After that it should work as it used to - sending only the info of the last attendee.

Please test it out and let me know.

Thanks Aleksandar.  I'll get this loaded today and make sure it works.

Also...I opened another ticket yesterday about our calendars not showing correctly and the Amelia Divi modules no longer populating the builder after the last update.  I got a reply from what seems like a new person, asking for credentials to log into our site, but as complex as the site is, I think it will be a waste of time for you guys to dig around to find an answer.  If you can take a look at my ticket, and give some feedback I'd appreciate it.  The calendars are showing grey lines over all dates, no matter what settings we have, but only on some calendars.  However, my calendar is correct, but then one's that were created using the Amelia Divi modules instead of shortcodes inserted into text modules literally just disappeared.

i figured this new person has a standard answer for most "unknown" issues, but we're smart enough to navigate this with your help.  And since it appears correctly on the staging site with a previous Amelia version, we've identified it as an issue with the latest update.
