I noticed that I can add customers to wp_amelia_users and that they show up at the "make appointment" stage.
When I add a new appointment everything works fine and seems to be added, but reloading the page results in a loop. Am I missing something? Could it be that another record has to updated as well?
I can add the users to wp_amelia_ users and the first time I can make an appointment with one of the imported users. After that Amelia goes into a loop and nothing is possible anymore. I can also see that there is no appointment registered in the database. I have changed to WP mail before making an appointment. With reference to your WP mail answer: could it be a - not sending email - problem?
If you don't see these appointments in the database, then I doubt it.
Could you please send us a screencast of a booking when Amelia goes into a loop? I will have to send your case to our developers and that would be really helpful.
In the Excel file you previously sent (the one you want to import), there are a lot of customers without a first name, so that might be the reason.
Please add first names to all customers without a first name, import the file again, update Amelia to the most recent version 3.3, and then test it again.
You can add any (or almost any) information that you want to be displayed in the event's description in the Google calendar with the placeholders. If you open the Amelia -> Settings -> Integrations -> Google Calendar page, you will see the placeholder options right under the description field:
So, for the Customer's name, you should add the %customer_full_name% placeholder.
Sorry for the delayed response, we don't work on weekends.
I'm afraid, that's how it's supposed to be: all the names in Amelia start with the First Name. There's no option to make it custom at the moment. Hopefully, we will add this feature soon since we receive a couple of requests recently, but I can't tell you precisely when it will happen.
No problem, would be a nice feature. I wasn't expecting you to work during the weekend, I think I'm the only one. One more question: our client has filled the system with appointments, but none of them show up in the Amelia calendar. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
That looks a lot like a conflict with another plugin.
Could you please deactivate all other plugins except for Amelia and check if that helps? If so, please start activating them one by one until you find the problematic one.
Hi,
My client has ca. 500 existing customers. Is there a way to import them?
Tom
Hi, Tom!
Thank you for choosing Amelia.
I'm afraid, at the moment it's only possible to export data from Amelia, but not to import it.
Our developers are working on a solution, and this option will be added in one of the coming updates.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Best Regards.

Tom,
Are trying to import Customers through the database, is that correct?
Hi Liza,
I'm filling wp_amelia_users with customers in the same way there are already customers registered.
Also incrementing ID.
Tom
Hi Liza,
Is there a way to do this via importing Wordpress users. Anything to avoid having to add customers manually....
Tom
Tom,
If you are familiar with database administration, then probably it can work.
I will have to consult with our developers regarding your case.
Could you please provide us with a temporary WP Admin login and cPanel or PhpMyAdmin credentials?
Best Regards.
Hi Liza,
Can I send you the info privately?
Tom
Tom,
Yes, sure, this is the way to go.
Hi Liza,
Thanks for your help. I'll have a go and see if I can solve this with WP mail.
Have a great weekend!
Tom
Tom,
I'm glad I could help.
Feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.
And thank you, have a great weekend too!
Hi Liza,
I changed PHP mail to WP mail but no luck. The rest of the settings (SMTP etc.) did not work either.
Any ideas?
Tom
Hi, Tom!
Sorry for the delayed response.
Do you mean the emails were not sent at all or they were not received once you changed the mail service to WP?
Best Regards.

Hi, Tom!
Thank you.
I forwarded your case to our developers.
I will get back to you once I receive their response.

Hi Liza,
That was not the problem. Deleting everything in wp_amelia_customer_bookings did the trick.
One other question: the description in the Google calendar is the service. I'd like there to read the name of the customer. Is that possible?
Tom

Hi Liza,
Great! Thanks for all your help. Much appreciated!
Tom
Tom,
I'm glad I could help.
Please feel free to ask any other questions you might have.

Hi Liza,
Another question: The customer list is sorted on firstname.
How do I change that to lastname? (See screenprint)

Hi Liza,
I deactivated all plugins except Amelia but no luck.
Any ideas?
Tom
Hi, Tom,
My second idea didn't work as well (I turned off the loaded VUE option on the Customize page).
According to my experience, sometimes it can be caused by caching. Can you please clear the site's cache and try to lead the calendar again?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
