I did understand the first steps. I downloaded the POEditor (but don't understand why to do this: almost everything was translated in the right way)
I really don't understand how to do the last step:
Go to ameliabooking/languages/fr_FR/ folder and copy these two files called wpamelia-fr_FR.po and wpamelia-fr_FR.mo back to your website in the location ../wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/languages/fr_FR/.
I don't have any folders at my website? Only on my computer? I tried to deactivate my plugin and activate again. Still no Dutch!
Also I can't find this: wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/languages/fr_FR/. ??
Is it possible to make a video of those steps?
In the attachement I have put one of the things I want to see translated... Can you please help me? If I can't translate those things it doesn't make any sense to have the Amelia plugin....
1. Download Amelia from our TMS Store and save the ameliabooking.zip file on your computer.
2. Unzip downloaded file.
3. Download and install POEDIT.
4. After that, open the program and open the file from the extracted folder on your computer ameliabooking/languages/en_US/wpamelia-en_US.po.
5. Translate all the strings on your language.
6. Save the file as the plugin suggests (the language code; for example wpamelia-id_ID.po if your language is Indonesian) and it will generate a new wpamelia-id_ID.mo file. You can find your language code here.
7. Go to ameliabooking/languages/ folder and create a new folder. Name it as the language code for your language (in our case, for Indonesian, it is id_ID) and then copy these two files called wpamelia-id_ID.po and wpamelia-id_ID.mo into it. Proceed with copying the whole folder id_ID back to your website in folder ../wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/languages/.
Of course, you will use language code for your language (we use Indonesian language, and its language code "id_ID" is just an example).
If you find it better, you can try using Loco Translate instead - it's a lot more approachable for use (personally, it's easier to be honest).
Is there an option to cancel my subscribtion at Amelia if it will not work in now - 1 week? We need to go online and if this solution will not work I will need to buy a new booking programm - unfortunately -
Hi there, again a ticket. I believe I want to have another booking system. I have tried all day but really can't find the solution. I used SFTP, translated all the words - a lot manually - becauce the PoEdit app was going to charge me money because I had to many words for translation. It took me all day and don't have any result...
Please can you let me know if I can get my money back? I know it's been longer than 15 days but I expected it would be a lot easyer to change the language. Thank you,
I'd like to check to see why this happens, and make a solution for you, René. I will consult a colleague who is specialized in translation files, I just need to ask you for your temporary WP admin, if that is all right with you.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.
You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.
It's really important for me to help you with this, René, as I believe that we can find a solution
I'm forwarding this immediately, and I will contact you latest Monday with a solution; again, it is very specific and I can't recreate it on my side - if you notice anything else language related, please feel free to message me in the meantime, any information means a lot
Thank you so much. Hopefully it will work to enter my website with the credentials and check the language for me. I would like to go live for me this week so it will mean a lot to me if you will be able to fix it. Thank you so much and looking forward for a possible solution!
Thank you for figuring out what causes the problem. Do you also know what to to at this point? How can we make those extensions match? Can you help me with this?
And if not is there a way ttoget back the money I pand for this plugin (since I will not be able to use it when the language will be English).
thank you for the kind reply! I've reached out to the developer to ask about this, as it's very peculiar - we are looking to make the multilanguage as adaptable as possible however in some instances settings like these can make the conflict happen.
Also, page language can be set if you have plugins like WPML where each page is a separate language; in that case files need to match, and the language page is supposed to be in need to match to correspond and activate the translation.
thank you so much for the credentials; I must apologize for the delay, as we don't work on weekends, and we are releasing a new project at the moment, so developers are a bit overwhelmed; and I need their assistance regarding this case.
Unfortunately the site popup where credentials go does not accept them; it does not provide an error either, just blinks and deletes the credentials; they could be expired. Please check the password and let me know; the developer will be waiting so that we can resolve this for you tomorrow morning.
Hope it will work for the developer and otherwise if I can have a possibility to get the money back (since we will not be able to use it in another language). Waiting for the reply, thanks for all your effords!
I can't get past that with the credentials you left. Can you please add the credentials for that (in a private response), and I'll gladly check it out.
This is a rather long ticket, so let me see if I understood correctly - you are using Dutch, but most strings are not translated, correct? Why did you even use POEdit? The Dutch language is 100% translated, while Belgium Dutch is 79% translated. You would only need to change the language of WordPress - in General WordPress settings to Dutch, and Amelia should be translated.
Anyway, please leave a brief summary of your issue, so I don't have to read the entire ticket again, and when you provide me with the htaccess credentials, I'll log in and take a look.
Alright, I thought it would have been enough to select one of the Amelia profile options (manager, employee, customer). Right now I have set the ''hezelbarbers-amelia'' one as administrator. Hope this helps!
The issue you have (why Amelia is not translated to Dutch) is because you selected "Nederlands (formal)". When I change the language in WordPress' General settings to "Nederlands", everything's translated correctly:
If you absolutely must have "Nederlands (formal)", there's a way to fix this:
Go to wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/languages/ folder, copy and paste the nl_NL folder. Rename the copied folder to "nl_NL_formal", then go into that file, and rename the .po and .mo files from "ameliabooking-nl_NL.po" and "ameliabooking-nl_NL.mo" to "ameliabooking-nl_NL_formal.po" and "ameliabooking-nl_NL_formal.mo".
That should translate the plugin to Dutch using the same translation files used in informal Dutch. I suppose the difference is big, so you would need to alter some words in the new files. When you're done, make sure to back them up, since they will be lost when the plugin updates.
Of course, the best course of action would be to send us the formal translation, so we can include it in the plugin. We will temporarily add the Dutch informal translation as Dutch formal, but if it's as different as I believe it is, it would be best to have both.
So happy you have checked this out for me. Helped a lot and I wasn't able to find it, even after four weeks looking for it. So gratefull! Thanks a lot! I know you guys where busy with the new update (which I installed aswell) so extra happy you could make time for this.
Hi there,
I want the Amelia plugin to be in Dutch.
Unfortunately your explanation on the website doesn't help me. (https://wpamelia.com/multilingual-support/)

Hi René,
thank you for reaching out to us!
You can find these files in your databas.
Here is the full instruction:

Also see this, still half English:

Hi René,
thank you for the kind reply!
It seems that there is a discrepancy between the language used on the page and the translation file for the page; the extensions don't match.
Hi Ivana,
Thank you for figuring out what causes the problem. Do you also know what to to at this point? How can we make those extensions match? Can you help me with this?

Hi Ivana,
I rather don't have a translation plugin since I try to reduce my number of plugins as far as possible...
Is there also another solution for this?
Thank you for your help so far!
René & Kiki
Hi René,
I completely understand; I apologize for the delay due to the increased ticket traffic as well.
I will ask for an alternative solution.
Hi René,
can you please check up the login credentials for me?
Hi Ivana,
Did the new credentials work for you?
Did you ask for the alternative solution?
It has been 3 weeks since the problem arised, so we really need to have our booking online and in Dutch, we need to go live. Sorry for the hurry!
Have a good day,
Kiki

Hello again René
You have htaccess login before the login screen:
I can't get past that with the credentials you left. Can you please add the credentials for that (in a private response), and I'll gladly check it out.

Hey René
Thanks for that, it worked.

Of course, the best course of action would be to send us the formal translation, so we can include it in the plugin. We will temporarily add the Dutch informal translation as Dutch formal, but if it's as different as I believe it is, it would be best to have both.
The changes on your site have been reverted.
