Interface problem

Hi, before buying the full version I wanted to try the free version. I installed it on my website and realized that the interface does not look too good.

The listing is displayed with a lot of margin and looks bad. Is there any way to fix it? It's as if Amelia is trying to adapt to the theme and I don't like it, I prefer the native interface of the plugin, just as it appears in the demo.

On the other hand, I need to translate the plugin (at least the front-end) to Catalan, could you tell me how I can do it?

    Hi Marc,

thank you for reaching out to us; I apologize for the later response, as we don't work on weekends.

You can customize the booking palette in Amelia > Customize; for other types of customization you can also try different codes such as Catalog view.

The default language of your Amelia will be the one that you have chosen in the WordPress settings.

The plugin can be translated using POEDIT or Loco Translate easily. I suggest installing Loco Translate, since it's within WordPress and it has a simple UI.

If you want to use POEDIT then please follow these instructions:

    1. Download Amelia from our TMS Store and save the ameliabooking.zip file on your computer.

    2. Unzip downloaded file.

    3. Download and install POEDIT.

    4. After that, open the program and open the file from the extracted folder on your computer ameliabooking/languages/en_US/wpamelia-en_US.po.

    5. Translate all the strings on your language.

    6. Save the file as the plugin suggests (the language code; for example wpamelia-id_ID.po if your language is Indonesian) and it will generate a new wpamelia-id_ID.mo file. You can find your language code here.

    7. Go to ameliabooking/languages/ folder and create a new folder. Name it as the language code for your language (in our case, for Indonesian, it is id_ID) and then copy these two files called wpamelia-id_ID.po and wpamelia-id_ID.mo into it. Proceed with copying the whole folder id_ID back to your website in folder ../wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/languages/.

Of course, you will use language code for your language (we use Indonesian language, and its language code "id_ID" is just an example).

When you finish that, it would be nice to send us the translation, so we can include it in our next major update so you don't have to copy this folder from local machine on every update.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your reply. I found the reason why a big space appeared in the drop down menu. Apparently the 'wpadminbar' is the culprit because when it doesn't appear, that space is not displayed.

I will do the translation little by little and send it to you, if you can give me an email maybe it will be easier for the future. For the moment I will only translate the front-end part, which is what interests me.

I have noticed a small problem. In the part where you check the appointment, the date does not appear correctly when WordPress is configured in Catalan. The date should appear in this format: j \d\e F \d\e Y (for example, 12 de Maig de 2021), but more "de" are added than usual. I attach an image.

    I forgot the image before

    Hi Marc,

thank you for letting me know; I'm sorry to hear that wpadminbar has caused an issue in layout.

Regarding the translation, thank you for your interest in sharing the Catalan translation with ussmile.png

I will check if we have any emails that you can direct them to.

I have forwarded the additional "de" issue; we will check what is going on and why is this doubling in the translation; I will contact you back regarding it.

    Hi Marc!

I hope that you are wellsmile.png

We will fix this part (with excess "de") and publish the fix in the next update!

Thank you for letting us know about it, and for your patience.

You can attach translations that you'd like to share with us as an attachment in a ticket, as we don't have an official email address for that type of correspondence.

If you need anything else please let us know!

    Hi Marc,

thank you so much for this!smile.png

I have forwarded it to my colleagues to add it to the translation files, and I will see what we can do for you.

  • Marc Figuerola replied

Thanks to you, Ivana! When I find translation errors I'll let you know, I'm sure there will be some!

I think I have found another problem. The site language is set to Catalan, but the administration (wp-admin) is set to Spanish, so Amelia should appear in Spanish, right? Well no, it still appears in English. On the other hand, if I set the site administration to Catalan, Amelia does appear in Catalan

    Hi Marc,

thank you for the kind reply!smile.pngI apologize for the later response as we don't work on weekends.

The WP language (admin) will make Amelia backend be in the same language. Front end (site) is translated by POEDIT, Loco, etc. and of course, side administration itself.

  • Marc Figuerola replied

    Good morning Ivana,

I mean that I have the WordPress administration in Spanish and Amelia's backend is still in English. Shouldn't it appear in Spanish?

  • [deleted] replied

    Hi Marc,

it should; I'd like to see what's going on if you don't mind.

Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.

We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.

You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.

    That's absolutely fine, Marcsmile.png

We can still locate the issue even if it's a subdomain, I believe. I have forwarded the info to a developer who manages our translation files and functionalities, so I will let you know why this happens (and how we can fix it).

Thank you, I wish you a great day in the meantime!

  • Marc Figuerola replied

Thank you Ivana, when I move the web to the definitive domain I will let you know if the problem persists.

Even so it does not bother me that it is in English, when I put the administration in Catalan, Amelia does change the language.

Please check back in with me in case that you notice errors there as well.

I will make sure to let you know if there are fixes before the update for smooth language switching (and correct one).
