I am a web developer planning on purchasing Amelia for a client who runs a yoga therapist business. She wants to offer class gift cards. This way someone else can purchase X or Y amount of classes and send the e-gift card to the customer, who can then use the gift card as a payment method at checkout.

The client also wants to sell physical products as a small e-commerce shop on the website, so having the ability to use the gift card to purchase a physical good would also be helpful.

Does amelia have any native way of handling gifting of appointments, possibly through the coupon feature or otherwise?

Does amelia integrate with woocommerce gift card plugins so that the gift card can be used as payment method to book amelia appointments?

    Thank you

    Hi Eddie,

thank you for taking interest in Amelia, and for reaching out to ussmile.png

I apologize for the later response, due to the Easter holidays we've had.

Unfortunately, Amelia only has Coupons at the moment, which are sent to a customer after an x number of approved appointments they book.

    Coupons cannot be gifted.

I am not sure regarding the WooCommerce, as Amelia's integration with them stretches to any method they offer (we don't have invoices, they do, and they work with this integration), so I cannot guarantee 100% it will work.

You can, at any case, contact us within 15 days from purchase for a refund, in case the WooCommerce Coupons don't work fully with Amelia purchases.

Thanks for your response, it was helpful!

I believe the Woocommerce integration should work with a gift card plugin.

I am also curious about monthly subscription payments. If I design a monthly package, X classes for 30 days for example. Is it possible for the customer to subscribe to this and it bills them each month? if not, is there a notification that can be configured towards the end of the package's alotted time? i feel a subscription feature would be very helpful for this plugin because gyms and therapists often charge each month and having the client manually subscribe to the package each month feels clunky in the modern world. i would need a way to subscribe to packages and also have the booking functionality that amelia offers.

lastly, how is the account creation process handled? when a new customer books a service, does it have them create an account? is there a way to require an account creation? i saw the customer panel screen, so i assume accounts can be created, it would be nice to require accounts and have them login to change bookings i just was unclear about this process.

thanks for your time and effort in answering these it is much appreciated!

    Upon looking into this further,

I am still curious about monthly subscription payments as stated in previous reply.

i am now aware of how the account creation process is handled. however, i believe im having an issue or am unsure how the new account process is handled. specifically, if i create a new appointment as a new customer, using an email never used before, it sends me an email saying appointment approved, but i dont get the login details for that user. i just get 1 email saying appointment approved even though in amelia's customer roles settings i have "Automatically create Amelia Customer user" setting turned ON.

The only way i can get it to send login details is to go to customers in backend and click create new and save and then it emails the info out. i would like this process to be automatic for every new email that registers for appointment.

what can i check to get this to function properly?

    thank you

    Hi Eddie,

thank you for the kind reply!

Unfortunately, at the moment there's no option to set recurring payments aka subscriptions in Amelia itself. One of the reasons is that Amelia doesn't store any payment details (what makes it so GDPR-friendly, on the other hand).

We are always looking for ideas on how to make Amelia better. So if you have a couple of minutes, please suggest this feature on our website.

Probably, it can be achieved with some third-party plugin or service, such as WooCommerce's Subscription, but we didn't test it with any subscription plugin, that's why we can't be sure if it will work flawlessly.

Our integration with WooCommerce is payment based, however, for now, only for single transactions.

For the login, you would need to set up the Customer Panel as well as you have activated the "Automatically create Amelia Customer user". Then, you need to make sure that your Appointment Approved has a placeholder link for the Customer Panel.
