I would like to move the search criteria to above the table but have it look just like it looks below the table. When I move it above it creates this huge form that looks very different when it is at the bottom of the table. Also I want to default to show all listings when the table is loaded. Thanks in advance for your help.
I assume you're referring to filters in the footer of the table? They are different from the global search each table has.
Are you enabling "Render filters in a modal above the table" in the Sorting and Filtering tab? That's used to place filters above the table and is adding space between the table and the filters.
You can also move the filters in the header, below the column headers, so it's implemented in the table, just like it is now.
For that, you'd need to go to wpDataTables settings, and select "Render advanced filter" to "in the header", like this:

Hi thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately I am not seeing an option that says
"Render Advanced Filters"
I've attached a screen shot of what I see
Thanks
HI Michael,
This option is in the main settings of the plugin (attachment)
Let me know if this works.
Best regards.
