My client has a small museum and we're using your plugin to manage their appointment booking slots as they partially re-open. For a while they were only allowing one group per 30 minute slot and everything worked perfect.
Now they want to be able to book up to 2 groups at a time (each group of up to 5 people) and I'm having trouble getting it figured out.
I realize we aren't using the plugin exactly as it was intended. We have the museum as an "employee." The partial solution I figured out is to have two different "employees," which allows 2 groups to book per timeslot.
BUT it means that each schedule is managed separately, which means using the front-end panels will require two separate log-ins, which won't work for them. https://wpamelia.com/front-end-employee-panel/
Is there any way to allow 1 employee to accept 2 appointments per time slot?
You're right, having 2 employees would sort of complicate the matter. If you don't mind this suggestion - would you be open to trying to increase the Maximum Capacity of the tour service from 5 to 10?
This would be the simplest solution that would not require making any new services or employees, and would just have the slot open for more people than usual.
Just to clarify, would this allow 2 different users to book the same slot? (for example, a group of 2 and a group of 5 both book at noon on Friday)
And would this prevent more than 2 groups from booking in one slot? (once two users have booked the slot, the appointment would be unavailable) Even if each of the two users just books for 1-2 people, it's important that no more than 2 households are in the space at once because of COVID.
It seems like this might not be possible, but I wanted to check to make sure I wasn't overlooking something.
I apologize for the later response as we don't work on weekends.
Increasing the capacity of one service would allow 10 people to book. This would be any 10 people, and if you go to Settings > Appointments, and make sure that Allow Booking Above Max Capacity is off, not more than 10 people would be able to book, even if someone wants to bring someone the total of people cannot exceed 10.
Unfortunately we don't have a way to limit this to allow only 2 households, as it can happen that one households books for 3 people, and another one for 4; this still leaves room for 3 people that don't have to belong to these 2 households.
OK thanks for the info. I knew we were stretching this beyond its intended purpose. Thanks for your help working this out. I still use it for multiple other clients and am very pleased with it.
Well, we are always open to expanding Amelia to fit as many business models as possible - "stretching" is finding out new great options that may be included in order to have Amelia as versatile as possible
You can always make a suggestion here, for any feature and option you feel would help you adapt Amelia to your business better; users will be able to vote for it and it can be considered in the future.
We have a lot of feature requests, the most requested features are in the top of the list and we really try to implement as many new features in each update.
