We recently updated our wpDataTables and master-details to the latest versions (3.4.2 and 1.3 respectively).
We're able to get the details window to show up properly in the admin panel, but on the actual website, clicking the 'details' button results in the webpage being darkenedn as expected, but the panel is not created.
I can see that you've added the option to add items to a cart (nice work, by the way), but I can't see the Master-detail option anywhere so I can't test this.
Can you add a table with Master-Detail enabled on a non-public page, and share the link with me, so I can take a look?
We also noticed that the issue occurs when we have our red sliding widget (shown at the right side of the screen with a red tab) active. The plug-in (originally at https://phpbits.net/downloads/sliding-widget-options/) is not supported any more unfortunately, but the description we have states that it uses the wp_footer hook, if that's of any help to you
We have another page here at https://mdx.com.sg/bg-test/ which doesn't have the red tab, and still works okay.
We didn't have this conflict with the previous versions of wpDataTables and master-detail that we were using.
We understand this might be an issue being caused by the old unsupported plug-in. If you have any immediate clues or ideas to help that would be amazing. If not or if it's out of the scope of TMS' support, we can try to get in contact with our old developer who implemented this and see if we can get him to take a look again.
I am pretty sure that it's caused by that unsupported plugin, but I believe we'll be able to include some workaround. I can't find exactly what's causing it, so I don't know how we can solve it, but I did forward the ticket to one of our developers, and he'll take a look at it during the day.
Leave everything as it is, so he can troubleshoot the page, and when he's done I will let you know.
It may be useful if you could provide us with a temporary wp-admin user (administrator), but please note that this is a public ticket, so if you're OK with leaving us the website's admin credentials, make sure to enable the PRIVATE response.
Just to add on another thing, maybe it is an incompatibility issue with the WP Tabs (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-expand-tabs-free/) plug-in, as it only seems to occur on pages where we have our tabbed widgets.
There's definitely a conflict with the plugin, which uses the bootstrap tab script.
It doesn't add certain classes in the modal (the "in" class), and it's not removing the visibility of the modal, so it stays on "display: none". You can only turn it off, or exclude it from the pages where our tables are.
Thank you very much Aleksandar, good to know where the issue lies.
Could we trouble you to check if master-detail would've always had conflicts with this behaviour from WP Tabs, or if it is the result of a recent change?
We've only come across this issue quite recently after updating our plug-ins, so would be helpful to nail down. Perhaps we could circumvent the issue temporarily just by downgrading whichever plug-in while we look for an alternative.
Unfortunately, issues like conflicts with third party plugins or themes are always possible due to the nature of WP, and it might take significant time to investigate and replicate the issue on our side, to be able to find the source of the problem, especially when the plugin or theme is not familiar to us.
Possibly an update on one of the plugins caused the conflict. Maybe they just started using bootstrap, or they upgraded their bootstrap version to overwrite ours. Either way, deactivating our bootstrap solves the issue, and personally, I wouldn't revert anything because WP is a dynamic environment and it's never advisable using old versions of plugins.
