I am building a website for a client that needs a booking appointment application. I love the way Amelia looks but I cannot even get the booking form to show - I have not bought Amelia yet as I want to make sure that it fits my needs - It will be used for a office space rental website. I know the lite one does not have employee or location attributes as there can be only 1 for each so there is nothing to configure there. I configured category and service but was not able to even view the page with the preview option in wordpress - it only shows the homepage? Would love to have the booking form show from a button click. Again I am not using any theme as that is usually how I build my websites. So will it work with a custom build? If so can you point me in the right direction of how to get it up and running as I would love to buy the Pro version as I will need  a payment gateway as well. If not please let me know so I can figure out my next steps. Thanks in Advance, Rick

    Hi, Rick!

Thank you for your interest in Amelia.

Could you please check if you set the Working hours on the Amelia -> Settings page?

If that doesn't help, please provide me with temporary WP Admin access, so I will be able to check the settings.

Also, I should mention that Amelia was created as a plugin for appointment/event booking, and it might be not the best option for the rental business.

In your case, each place has to be a booking Service in Amelia.

A Service can be booked only for 23h 59m. So if you want to let longer rental time, you'll have to use Events.

Our plugin needs at least one Employee connected with a Service. If you have 5 places and you want to allow renting them at the same time separately (and avoid double renting), you'll have to connect them to 5 different Employees. It goes without saying that these Employees don't have to be real staff members, they can be added only in order to follow the logic of the plugin. On the front-end, the selection of Employees can be hidden with a simple CSS code. So your customers won't have to choose them while booking. So, just for your information.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks Liza, sorry for the late response. I will definitely try those examples you gave me. I think this application will work as its renting space and not really physical equipment or the likes. One location as well. I know not being able to see the plugin is my user error I think I know what needs to be done for that. I may have to purchase before I can really see the fullness of how it operates. When I buy will you be able to walk me through certain things if I get hung up?

    Hi, Rick!

    Thank you for your response.

Yes, sure. We will gladly help you if you face any issues or difficulties while setting Amelia up.

I'd like to mention that we have 15 days money-back guarantee, which means you can purchase Amelia, test it, and if it turns out Amelia doesn't fit your business, you can request a money refund within 15 days after the purchase.

    Best Regards.

Hey Liza I am back finally. I have the application installed. I am showing the booking form from a custom post type in wordpress and all is good. So what I need to do is this:

Lets say I have 10 workspaces to rent. I want to rent them by the day or by the hour. So of course if 1 of the  spaces gets rented by the hour then it will not be available for the daily rental and vice versus but the rest would be available and I would need them to react the same way as they get booked of course. So with that being said do i create services for each individual space? or do i just increase maximum capacity to 10? I have a category of workspace and then a service of hourly and a service of daily. right now when I book the daily it takes off for that day because I guess it only sees 1 office space until i configure it properly. Which makes sense but where do I go from here not exactly sure. If you can guide me  I will appreciate it. Let me know what other information you need from me so you can assist me the best way. Thanks again in advance

    Rick,

    Welcome backsmile.png

I would suggest you create not 10 but 20 Services. Thus, each workspace will have one Service (Service 1) for hourly rent and one Service (Service 2) for daily rent. In this case, once at least one appointment of Service one is booked, Service 2 will become unavailable, so you will be able to avoid overbooking.

As I mentioned before, our plugin needs at least one Employee connected with a Service. If you have 10 workspaces, you'll have to connect them to 10 different Employees (so, Service 1 and Service 2 should be connected to the same Employee, this is the way to avoid overbooking). It goes without saying that these Employees don't have to be real staff members, they can be added only in order to follow the logic of the plugin.

In Amelia, each Employee needs to have a unique email address so each workspace will have also. This can be solved if you plan to use Gmail by adding +number before @ for the same email address (like [email protected], [email protected], etc.) and then you will be able to create different email addresses but all emails will go to the same email address.

On the front-end, the selection of Employees can be hidden with a simple CSS code. So your clients won't get confused.

Hope my explanation is more or less clear.

    Best Regards.

    Hey Liza,

I have the website booking app up and running for the most part. A few kinks needs to be adjusted but otherwise its looking good. You mentioned the CSS to not show the employees. Could I get that snippet from you? Thanks again for everything and I may be hitting you up again not sure yet lol.

Ok I found another issue. For some reason My daily booking is perfect on the time frame but my hourly is starting at 6pm instead of 8am?? 2 services one for daily one for hourly same employee. I hope you can help please lol?

Im sorry to bombard you but that time issue seems to only show for todays date? I am writing this at 1:17 so the next possible booking should be 2:00pm not 6pm? Oh well hope all is well with you! Let me know look forward to hearing from you.

At 8:54am this morning the earliest booking is 1:00pm?? But the next day shows the proper time frames? Only on same day booking is the issue? Also the employee is not assigned to any other event or service and nothing is currently booked so there should be no issue or conflict. As soon as it reached 9:00am the earliest booking went to 2:00pm. Another thing is it doesn't matter the employee or service all the hourly ones do this.

    Hi Rick,

thank you for contacting backsmile.png Liza is currently out of the office, so I hope that you don't mind me replying.

You mentioned the CSS to not show the employees. Could I get that snippet from you?

Please provide me the URL of the page where your Amelia Booking is located so that I can create the snippet for your site.

For some reason My daily booking is perfect on the time frame but my hourly is starting at 6pm instead of 8am??

This can usually happen if you have this option active: Show in Client's time zone, so on the frontend different time shows than on the backend. Did you set up your employee's schedule in Amelia > Employees > Work Hours?

Later I see that you advised that all hourly do this; would you mind if I access the backend to see where the issue may be?

Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.

We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties.

You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.

    Hey Ivana,

Im not worried about the css at the moment. Just want the app to work right. I do not have show clients time zone active in the booking app. Right now as of 8:00am the first available booking is listed at 1:00pm. I have all employees working from 8:00am to 8:00pm. I even set the company hours to that as well. I also have set the employees as Liza has specified with 1 employee that is assigned to 1 hourly service and 1 daily service for each workspace. This only does not work on same day hourly booking. For the next day and following days there is no issue shows proper time but same day is a huge gap before next available. The issue is with every hourly service and every employee. Thanks again

I got it up and running by changing the time zone from UTC format to city as according to another specialist help. Thanks again I appreciate your help!

    Hi, Rick,

Sorry for the delayed response, we don't work on weekends.

I'm glad to hear that the issue was resolved.

Please let me know if I can help with anything else.

Our new version 4.0.1 includes the option to hide Employee selection on the Customize page, so if you updated Amelia, now you can do it yourself by disabling the field:
