I just purchased Amelia yesterday and it could be very interesting for my business - I am offering city tours. Unfortunately I have two issues, which I have to get solved before the 15 "trial" expires, because with these problems I won't be able to use it.
1. Very Important: Paypal
I tried to integrate paypal, I already have a business account for a long time. but i am not able to create a sandbox account (shouldn't be there one main account installed from the beginning on anyway?). When I try to create a new sandbox account, it shortly appears as PENDING and after 1-2minutes it just completly disappears. Although I connected the new sandbox accounts afterwards, they simply do not appear in the dashboard. I already tried to figure out the solution but found nothing. I contacted the paypal technical support, but in my experiences it takes ages for them to answer. Can you help me with this issue?
2. Not very important: German translation
I changed the name of services to TEAMGRößE which makes more sence to me. But now the sentence in the bookingprocess is:
Bitte auswählen Teamgröße:
The right sentence shoulg be:
Bitte Teamgröße auswählen.
Even with the normal service-name it should be this way arround.
More over it is
Beliebige employee (I changed it to Tour) and not Beliebig employee. The translation is just not correct. Can I or can you change it?
Since I like the plugin very much, I would love this issues have to be sold within the trial period. Thank you for your work!
1. As far as I know, you need to go to https://developer.paypal.com/developer/accountStatus/, and on the left hand side, in the “Dashboard” menu click on “My Apps & Credentials”. Under “REST API apps” section you need to create a new App (or use the existing one), and then copy the data from the fields “Client ID” and “Secret” into Amelia Settings/Payments/PayPal, under Sandbox section. We've never had any issues in this regard. You also need to create a sandbox user, since you can't test Sandbox usage with a real user.
2. We're having the same issue with our language as well (Serbian). There are 7 grammar cases in our language, and I completely understand what you mean. Our developers are working on resolving this, but I can't say when the fix will be included. We even reached out to WPML, to see if they are willing to create an add-on for us that would help us solve this.
In about a month (hopefully) we will release a new Customize feature, with which you will be able to translate each segment of the plugin, so changing these strings will be a lot easier. At the moment, you can't construct sentences in the correct way.
concerning 1.) The answer of my first problem was quite easy: After the first login in to the paypal developers site it needs up to 24h until the account works properly and the sandbox accounts are active. Now, I tried to implement the paypal payment and I always get the notice that there accured an error (see attachment).
It means:
Unfortunately we couldn't make the transaction. Try again later.
Do you know this problem?
concerning 2.) Such a plugin would be awsome!
So I hope, i will get the paypal issues get fixed :)
I'm glad to hear that, good to know for future reference.
I checked your booking page, and saw a lot of errors in the console - here's just a part:
Do you maybe have "BackWPup" plugin installed?
If not, please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party.
Please note that this is a public ticket, so make sure to enable the PRIVATE response when you add your credentials in the ticket.
When I inspect the admin-ajax response, I see this:
message: "Authentication failed due to invalid authentication credentials or a missing Authorization header."
I removed your Live credentials, and left only our Sandbox credentials, which work 100%, but it still failed. The error mentioned before was removed, but the errors in the console were still there.
Can you double-check your PayPal credentials, and if they are fine, let me know, and I'll engage one of our developers on this?
Those seem to be the correct credentials, but I don't know what's going on. Please leave the credentials active, so one of our developers can remote in, and take a look.
The credentials you added to PayPal Live are actually Sandbox credentials. So, the image you shared with me in your previous response are credentials for Sandbox. When we added them to corresponding fields in Amelia, we were able to book an appointment with your Sandbox credentials.
Maybe this too needs 24 hours to update the details. You will see on your sandbox the charge from our test customer account, but you can also see the booked appointment in Amelia.
So, the credentials you shared with me in the image yesterday need to be added to Sandbox credentials, and you need to also add the Live credentials from PayPal into Amelia settings/Payments/PayPal/Live.
thank you now it works. This step is logical - but is not mentioned in the configuration doc from amelia, i just doubled checked it if I was just not careful enough. It might be helpful to add this :)

Hi again Michael.
I'm glad to hear it works! Which step are you referring to, the 24-hour wait?
I just wanna make sure we're on the same page before I add it to our documentation.
