we found the problem, it was a silly mis-configuration of the plugin
I'm having the same problem, there have been no updates done, nothing. How can this happen?

Can you please share what the misconfig was? As I'm stuck on the same problem as you, except for that I did not change anything, but I'd like to see if that could be the case.

Sarah, these issues usually happen if you failed to create a category, a service or an employee. If you have all those created, check if your employee has work hours configured.
If that still doesn't help, please open a new, private, ticket where you'll provide us with a temporary administrator account for your website, so we can log in and take a look.
