    How do I update from Version 3.0.2 to the latest version?

    I have this message 

    There is a new version of Amelia available. View version 3.1.2 detailsAutomatic update is unavailable for this plugin.

    Hi Samantha,

    thank you for contacting us!

    You received an email with credentials for our store https://store.tms-plugins.com/login where you can download the update from.

    My suggestion is to update the plugin manually by following these steps:

    1.) Download zip from our store or from the email you received when you purchased the plugin

    2.) Use FTP to open /yourwordpressfolder/wp-content/plugins

    3.) Delete existing ameliabooking folder.

    4.) Upload the previously downloaded ameliabooking folder through FTP into "plugins" folder (unzip it)

    5.)  Go to WP-admin panel, open Plugins section.

    6.) Deactivate Amelia Plugin, and then activate it again.

    7.) Clear server and browser cache

    ____________________________________________________________________________________________

    If you are on hosting where you are not allowed to access your FTP, then follow these instructions:

    Please note that after you delete the plugin from your Plugins section, you WILL NOT lose your data.

    1.) Download zip from our store or from the email you received when you purchased the plugin

    2.) Delete Amelia plugin from WordPress' Plugins page

    3) Click on Add new in top left of your Plugins page

    4) Click on Upload plugin in top left of your Plugins page

    5.) Choose the previously downloaded ameliabooking.zip file

    6.) When uploading is done, please Activate Amelia plugin

    7.) Clear server and browser cache.

    Please note that our plugin is around 8 MB in size, so if you are not able to upload it through WordPress plugins page, you will need to increase the following:

    upload_max_file size, 

    post_max_size,

    max_execution_time

    You should be able to find these values in your php.ini file or on your hosting panel. If you can't find it yourself please ask your hosting provider to provide it.

    Hi Ivana,

    Should there be an automatic update available usually?

    I can see where there may be a problem. When I purchased the plugin, I purchased it to test firstly on my staging site and the site then went live on a different domain name.  Could that be the problem? Am I able to update the domain name?

    If I deleted the plugin and uploaded the plugin again surely that would delete all the appointments etc already booked in?

    Hi Samantha,

    thank you for the kind reply.

    Yes, you can enable automatic updates in WordPress, however, we offer manual update instructions when issues occur.

    It could be, thank you for letting me know; we recently added a possibility for you to manage your domains in our store. So, please access the store and you will see the Manage domains button, so you can delete the old domain there and then you will be able to activate your purchase code on your new domain when you go to Amelia -> Settings -> Activation tab

    If the issue persists please let me know.

    Hi I can't find a link anywhere for Amelia >  settings > activation.

    Is this directly on the Wordpress plugin on the correct site?

    How will this affect the existing installation?

    I can see this in the plugin but the activation code is already there - it's greyed out and can't be updated.

    The only option is to deactivate it.  Is this what I need to do and if I deactivate it, does this impact the existing appointments / set up?

    Please advise so I can update the plugin safely

    yes i deleted the old domain in the TMS panel but I do not know how to add a new domain.

    Manage domains does not give me the option to add  new one.

    Domain can be changed in Amelia > Activation; or a new one added.

    Hi Ivana,

    Presumably you mean activation within the Amelia plugin itself? If so, this is what I see (attached).

    There is no option to change the domain name here?

    Hi Samantha!

    thank you for replying; yes exactly.

    Through our store, you can only deactivate the license from websites where it is active, but you cannot add new domains there. 

    In order to activate the license on a new domain, you need to install Amelia on that domain, and simply activate the license in Amelia Settings/Activation. That's it - the domain where this instance of Amelia is installed will be active.

    But I have done this already. 

    The plugin was installed on a sub domain and tested. 

    When I moved the site to it's proper domain it had the old subdomain listed in the dashboard on the store already, which I removed at your instruction

    The plugin is already activated on the proper domain name. I can't deactivate it as it's live. So how do I get updates without disrupting the live website and how do I associate this correct domain name with the plugin for future updates?

    thank you for letting me know.

    The license is disabled on sneakypeaky.co.uk currently.

    It needs to be activated in Amelia Settings/Activation. If it's not working when you try doing it, please provide me with temporary WP admin credential, if you give us consent that we try doing in for you.

    Hi Ivana, 

    What does it mean for the licence to be 'activated' exactly?

    Does this mean that the plugin is activated and working.  You can see here https://www.wellingearwaxclinic.co.uk/make-an-ear-microsuction-appointment/ that it is activated and working on the website? 

    Unless there's something I am missing in the back end, here is what I see on the activation setting (see attached).

    Hi Samantha,

    everything is working in order!

    Your Amelia booking works on the site as shown below:

    The purchase code is ok as well - that is the purchase code we see for your licence here as well.

    If you see Amelia backend (to make appointments, services, employees), and when you go to Plugins > Amelia, and it says v3.1.2, then it's all done!

    the plugin is still on 3.02, also there is no domain registered on the license here (see attachment)

    I really need to get this sorted quickly as its been dragging on for over a month - thank you.

    everything works fine but I need to get the plugin to update - I am now at least 2 versions behind

    Ivana, I will try this but just to double check with you and probably state the obvious...

    I need to do this when appointment bookings are at a minimum as they service will be unavailable?

    I will not lose any date on appointments already booked or any settings and services that are already set in the plugin?

    I will of course take a back up beforehand

    "Please note that if you delete old version from WP-admin (by clicking “Delete” in the plugins page) you will not lose your data and settings because it is already saved in database."

    This is the part referring to data, and by data I mean everything you entered:

    services, employees, appointments, customers, etc.

    So, just make sure, before you do anything else, to go to Amelia > Settings > Activation, and see that Delete tables slider is off.

    When this slider is off, it means your data will be saved, and data tables will not be deleted during updatesmile.png

    Thanks Ivana - that seemed to do it!

    BUT the purchase code isn't under the plug in activation setting and it won't let me enter it - does that mean we are not using the PRO version? I'll need to get that fixed immediately!

    Do I need to deactivate then activate under 'activation settings' as well  'Plugins'? I have only deactivated / activated under plugins.

    you would need to deactivate a licence in Amelia > Activation, and then log into the store to activate the new one.

    I don't want to activate a new one - I want the existing license to show on the activation page - it doesn't appear. 

    Also in the dashboard for purchasing the license it's not linked to my domain www.wellingearwaxclinic.co.uk either
    As far as I am aware this license should already be activated on this site and has been, since purchased.

    thank you for letting me know; we've been away for Easter holiday, so I deeply apologize for the belated answer.

    We have changed this for security reasons; you can access the code in the store, and you can change domain there as well (since you advised that your code is not active on www.wellingearwaxclinic.co.uk, it has to be active on one domain, so that domain needs to be changed to www.wellingearwaxclinic.co.uk).

    I am also checking to see if we can set your domain to www.wellingearwaxclinic.co.uk manually from here.

    Hello Ivana,

    this is getting a bit frustrating...

    Please see the image attached.

    Under the TMS support url  https://store.tms-plugins.com/
    (see attached image) there is no domain listed and no way to re-instate it. I was told to delete it previously as it had copied across the staging domain name originally - I was lead to believe I could add the correct url back in but have not found a way to do this at all.  If you can do this please do.  This is the correct domain name.  https://www.wellingearwaxclinic.co.uk/

    Prior to the change in the screen shot you added below - there was no activation code listed then either. 
    If you want access to sort this out please let me know as I really need to get this sorted before fully handing off to the customer.

    The license has been disabled, but it can't be activated through the store again. 

    To activate the license on a new domain, you need to add the purchase code to Amelia Settings/Activation. 

    That's the only way to have the license registered on her site, and in our database.

     I can add the URL to our database, and activate it, but it will not be active in your database in this case, and auto-updates will not work, so you would need to go through settings.

    This is the problem I am having, I have done everything I have been asked to do but the purchase code cannot be added to Amelia > Settings > Activation. 

    Where do I add the purchase code on this screen  (see attached screenshot) It appears to be activated by the fact that I have an option to deactivate it, right?

    And, I can't see the domain name in the store dashboard. 

    It appears to be that my domain name is not stored on the TMS account AND my purchase code is not stored in Ameila plugin. It looks like I have a pro version running, but there's no way of confirming this??

    This has all stemmed from the fact that I wasn't able to run an update for Amelia - Is it possible there is a bug?

    For context the plugin was tested on a staging site and then pushed to a live domain so that seems to be where the problem stems from ( a change in url) but no one seems to be able to make the necessary change to ensure the plugin is the pro version on the live site.

    Your license is deactivated in our database as well, for site sneakypeaky.co.uk. 

    There is possibly a copied space or "Purchase code: " so it's saved in the database like that in the format that cannot be read. 

    Please provide me a temporary WP-admin (administrator) user for your website and Database credentials - so that we can fix immediately (we will just check how purchase code is entered and fix it if it's in a wrong format).

    We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course, we do not provide login data to third parties. 

    You can write credentials here just check PRIVATE Reply so nobody can see them except us.
