    Good Evening,

I am wondering if anyone can help me please. I would like to offer a service for an employee that is four hours long. I would like the customer to be able to select the start time of the this service with 30 minute intervals. For example it could start at:

    6:00am

    6:30am

    7:00am and so on.

I have set the employees work hours to 06:00 - 18:00 on a Monday for testing and the customer gets the following choices for booking the service:

    6:00am - 10:00am

    10:00am - 2:00pm

    2:00pm - 6:00pm.

I however would like them to be able to select any start time and the service last four hours.

I am wondering how I can do this please?

    Thanks Callum

    Hi Callum,

thank you for purchasing Amelia, and for contacting us!

Since service time is fixed within an employee's schedule (so that one employee would be able to have multiple slots during one day), this can be managed with "fictional" employees for these slots.

You can assign one employee for each potential time:

    6 - 10

    6:30 - 10:30

    7 - 11 etc

However, please bear in mind that in that case, if one slot is chosen, the others will remain open, as Amelia does not have this flexibility yet to have an appointment with adjustable time slots.

I'll kindly ask you to add it as a feature suggestion on this page. Features are pushed up on our "to-do" list when there are a lot of customers requesting those features, so having your vote as a customer can be beneficial to this feature being developed sooner.

    Hi Ivana,

Thank you for your response, that is a shame as I need to be able to close the other time slots if one is booked. If this is the case would it be possible to change the time slots so the user doesn’t select a time and it isn’t clear to them what time they are booking? I just need the user to be able select Morning Session or Afternoon Session rather than the times. Obviously if the work hours show the employee isn’t available until 1pm then it would only be the Afternoon Session visible.

    Thanks Callum

    Hi Callum,

If you don't mind that kind of setup, you can do the following:

    • Create one employee who will work x number of hours in the morning
    • Create second employee who will work x number of hours in the afternoon
    • Assign them both to the same service, and set service duration to be equal to the length of an employee's shift
    • In this way you will have 2 time slots available on the calendar; one for morning one for afternoon

    I hope this helps.
