I'm working on a project to deliver two websites for a client. I love the look of wpDataTables and would like to purchase it but I have a concern about the way it handles PHP serialized arrays or JSON data from an API.
For JSON data from an API, it looks like the API needs to be public (no authentication) and I don't see how I can pass variable parameters and auth information to it. For PHP arrays, it seems as though the data source needs to be publicly accessible as URL. Same problem with auth again. I'm working with sensitive data.
I'm comfortable with functions.php in WordPress (my site uses a lot of custom shortcodes, etc), so I've been looking for hooks that I could use to supply the data to wpDataTables instead. I can't find a way to do this in your docs.
Hello,

Is there a better solution to this problem?
Thanks.
