I am using TranslatePress plugin to translate Amelia. I see there is an update for Amelia. Is it safe to upload an updated version of Amelia? Would it overwrite all my translation I've made so far?
Translation files are located in the zipped folder which updates the plugin, and they reside in ../wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/languages/ folder.
So, they will be overwritten if you update the plugin. My advice is to copy .po and .mo files from that location and save it on your PC. Then when you update the plugin, update existing strings (because new strings are added in the updated file), and modify new strings.
Thanks for the reply. What I need is to change the front-end of Amelia. In those files, it seems only the back-end. For example, I've changed the label Service to Photo Session but for some reason now I have for both languages the label Photo Session so I want to change that. In those files, I couldn't find any trace of the label Photo Session.
I also added in Amelia one custom field with text and this text is also shown on the front-end for both languages. Obviously, I need to translate it for the other language and I didn't find it in those files you suggested.
Files found in .po files of a language are both for front-end and back-end. Service and Employee are strings that can be overwritten if you have Labels settings enabled in Amelia Settings. Please go there, and disable the Labels settings.
Custom fields are not included in that file, because those are generated by you, and they are not built into the plugin. Only hard-coded strings are included in the translation. From one of our future updates, modifying the plugin with WPML will be possible, but until then, it is only possible through .po files.
