Hello, I am using Amelia for my hair and beauty salon. As you are aware when visiting a salon for a colour and cut there needs to be a process time between the two services but currently the only option is the two appointments being booked as a block of time together wasting valuable salon time, losing money whilst we could be working on another client. Is this an option I have over looked or is this not possible which would mean this booking system does not work for my business.
Unfortunately, there's no way to create a single service which would allow you to have the "process" time in between.
There are a few limitations in every workaround I can offer. If you split these into 2 services, the customer would be able to book "color" at 12:00, and "cut" at 15:00, or another customer can book the "cut" service at 12:30, for example.
If you were to add buffer time to the "color" service, your employee would still be unavailable for other customers (buffer time is included in the total duration of the service).
Unfortunately, there are no workarounds I can offer for this issue.
Hello, thank you for your response. Unfortunately this plugin is therefore no good for my industry as hair salons will always need appointments to have a process time. I would like a refund as I will be needing to find a different plug in for my website. Thank you
I am sorry to hear you won't be using the plugin after purchase, but unfortunately there's nothing we can do about the refund.
You purchased the plugin on June 25th, 2020 (253 days ago). As per our refund policy, we can issue refunds only within 15 days after purchase, and it is considered customer's obligation to know this when purchasing products from us.
Even if our management agreed to issue a refund, our reseller (Paddle) removes this option after more than 60 - 90 days passed (depending on the payment option), so we wouldn't even be able to initialize it.
You purchased the plugin almost 9 months ago, how come you just started working with it? I'm sorry, but there really is nothing I can do about the refund.
hello, due to Covid 19 my business has been opening and closing. The website has taken a while to build and I only launched my online booking system recently. I only realised the issue that there was no process time for colours when bookings were being made as large bookings together with the cut. When I tried to look for the option to add a process time I couldn’t find one. There are so many other booking systems that have this I just can’t understand why Amelia wouldn’t or why you wouldn’t be trying to add a solution to fix this problem. No hairdressers would ever be able to use this booking plugin whilst Amelia lacks this option limiting your customers.
I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties brought your way due to COVID-19. I certainly hope you're doing fine despite the global situation.
We're not saying that this feature won't be added to the plugin; in fact, we've discussed this feature in depth on the same day you opened the ticket about it; and our developers will work on it in one of our future updates. I can't say when it will be included, but it will be addressed at some point.
As for the refund, there really is nothing we can do about it, since our reseller (Paddle) blocks the "refund" button for us after a certain amount of time has passed. You can reach out to them via this form, and ask them if they're willing to issue a refund. We're fine with it, if they allow it, but I doubt they will.
Hey, thank you so much hopefully business will resume again soon for good and then the only way is onwards and upwards! I like Amelia it’s easy to use and clients have given great feed back about how straight forward their booking experience has been. I don’t want to have to hook up a different system and add all my services again so if you are telling me this feature will be added I will hold on and carry on splitting my bookings manually. You have been really understanding and easy to explain my issues to which also makes me feel confident that if I had any other problems in future you would try your best to help me. Thank you for taking the time to Respond to me.
Hey, I don’t think there is anyway around the problem I’m having. At the moment we have all the services listed in one section so you would select say highlights from the drop down and then you have the option of adding an extra which has anything you could also have with highlights so cut and blowdry or just a blowdry etc. That’s where the problem is as this booking will then be made putting the two services together meaning 1hour for highlights and then 45 minutes for the cut and blowdry. It will the book out 1hour 45 altogether in a block so it just doesn’t work. I’m finding myself having to go into the bookings confirm the highlights and take off the extra and then go back in under the clients name and book the extra service separate but not let it notify the client for the second booking as I was getting confused emails asking which time their appointment was the originally chosen time or the second email with the cut and blowdry time that I’ve booked in. bit of a nightmare! Any tips of how this process could be made easier would be great but whilst there is no process time I don’t think much can be done as clients don’t know how much time to book between a colour and cutting service even if they were to book appointments separately.. this shouldn’t be down to them anyway. Thanks
You're right, with Extras added with a duration, it's never going to work.
Would you consider removing the duration of your extras? That could create other complications, though. If a customer books Highlights, and adds cut and blowdry without duration; the service with extras would last 1 hour; but what happens (for you, in the salon) when another customer books a time slot right after that?
Within a couple of hours, you may have 3 or 4 customers overlapping, so I guess that's also out of the question.
I'll forward your ticket to our management, so they can work with the development team and see how this can be fixed in the future.
Hello, I’m having another problem hopefully you can help! Say there are two hair stylists from my end I can select who is carrying out the service when booking in clients BUT on the front end when clients are booking they aren’t given the choice of who they would like to do their hair. They can select the service and time and then it allocates whoever is available at the chosen time but the client might not have wanted that person? How do I give the option to choose who they want? Thanks
If both employees are working on the same service, the plugin will automatically add the Employee drop-down selection.
So, unless you hid the employee selection drop-down, you only need to assign both employees to same services, and those services will have the employee selection.
hey thanks for your reply, how would i unhide thay employee drop down selection as it’s not giving that option at the moment. It displays the names of employees that can carry out the service but no option to choose who you would like? thanks
Can you please tell me on which page is the booking form, and provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party.
Just make sure to enable the PRIVATE response, since this is a public ticket.
Thank you for reaching out to us, but please translate your further responses into English - it is the only supported language.
Thank you for your suggestion, your vote has been forwarded to our managers, and hopefully they'll be able to include something similar in the future. At this time, the change would require a lot of code changing, so it's not in our priority list.

We're doing a lot to make the plugin better with every update, and we're trying to cover all industries and use cases.
Can you tell me how your services are configured now? I may be able to offer some workarounds if I understood your current setup.
