I put in a ticket for this last week but have not heard back. No matter what I do, when entering the Separate DB Connection info and either his Test or Save, the timer spins forever on a white page. When refreshing the page to get out of the spin, all is lost.

As I can see from the previous ticket our colleague Aleksandar responded to the ticket, here is what he wrote in case you missed it:
This usually happens when the connection credentials are not valid; if the server on which the separate database is doesn't allow remote connections; or if you don't have necessary drivers installed on your WordPress server. If you allow it to stay on that screen for a few minutes, an error will appear, telling you exactly what the issue here is.
If you're able to provide me the connection details, I can try connecting to it, ruling out the drivers issue. If you decide to share the credentials with me, please remember to enable the PRIVATE response, since this is a public ticket, so it's not visible to everyone else.
