You can filter images in a column per image's filename from your media library. If you wish to create a table that will serve as a gallery, you can add tags in a text column, which you would be able to filter through regular wpDataTables filters.
There's no tutorial for this. Simply put - each image is stored in your Media Library when you upload it. So, it's using WordPress function wp_upload_dir() for location of upload files. By default, is set to the upload folder (wp-content/uploads), and each new file is added there.
So, when you have images in a column, you can filter them with a Text filter by typing "some", and it will find that file with the name "Some File".
Also, you can add a new column where you will manually enter tags or keywords. Like "tomato" for an image of a tomato. Then, you would be able to hide that column (in column settings, disable "Show this column on front-end"), but still use the filter to filter the table per that column,.
I want to have image gallery with filtering category wise or all, but also images have link to them.
