Adding information about Extras in Services to notifications

    Hi there!

When we add Extras to services, we can see them in Amelia dashboard and everything is working well. Is there a way to add Extras to the customer notification emails?

    Thank you!

    Hi, Yulia!

    Thank you for choosing Amelia.

Yes, you can do it by using a suitable placeholder.

When you create an Extra for a Service, the placeholder for this extra will be created in the placeholders list on the Amelia -> Notifications page. There are placeholders for Extra’s name, price and quantity, for example, %service_extra_1_name%. So, if you created Extras you should have these placeholders in the list when you click on </> Show Email Placeholders on the Notifications page.

Unfortunately, there is some issue with the Extras’ placeholders in version 3.0.2. This bug will be fixed in the next update. In order to resolve the issue now, please unzip the file in the attachment in your Amelia plugin, clear the browser’s cache and check on </> Show Email Placeholders again.

    Best Regards.

Hi there! Has this issue been resolved? (adding Extras placeholders to emails) It looks like the latest update has caused some issues for the customers so we don't want to update and make the matters worse.

    Hi, Yulia!

Yes, basically, the bug was already fixed, that's why I was able to send you the file. And now this fix is added to the updated version.

Could you please clarify what happened the last time when you updated the plugin?

    Best Regards.

Hi there! After the plugin update via WP dashboard, when we go to the Book Now page, the hourglass icon keeps spinning and nothing happens.
This is the error from the inspector console:

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 500 ()

    Hi, Yulia!

I forwarded your case to our developers for further investigation.

However, it might be caused by the same reason that I mentioned under the other ticket you have: by the empty First or Last Employee's name.

    Best Regards.

    Hello Yulia

Liza is out of office today, so I'll try and help you out here.

The credentials we have from one of your previous tickets are not for an admin-level role, so I can't help you directly:

    1040640860.png

The error I see on the page is this:

    {"message":"Unable to find by id in AmeliaBooking\\Infrastructure\\Repository\\User\\ProviderRepository"}

This tells me that you have a user (most likely an employee) saved without a first or a last name. So, my guess is you saved an employee with an empty space in place of the last name. That caused the issue with the plugin.

Please either revert to v3.1.2, change the name (or the last name) from an empty space to a dot, a comma, anything, and then update the plugin. Make sure to check your employees and your customers - it's one of the users causing the issue here, but without admin access, I can't help much other than point you in the right direction.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Aleksandar,

Thanks for your reply. I have changed your permissions to be admin permissions on our staging site.

I have looked in the database, and we do have some employees added as for example, "Yulia - Hairstylist" so there is a space and a dash in the last name field, is that not allowed?

  • [deleted] replied

    Hi, Yulia!

I got confirmation from our developers that spaces and dashes in the Employees' names don't cause a bug.

Please provide us with FTP and database access to your staging site, and our developers will investigate the issue.

    Best Regards.
