I am the programme secretary for our walking club.

I am looking to automate our bi annual programme schedule by having the walk leaders schedule their walks according to the rules.

I have attached a document with a data model, use cases and scheduling rules.

I would like to know if Amelia will work for us. Currently I do this manually using linked MS Excell spreadsheets one for the programme and one which holds all the walk data.

Thank you for your reply. To answer your question, the graphic is a Logical Data Model. I.e. This is all the data elements I require, their grouping and how those groups relate to each other. The arrow head has the meaning that group it is pointing to has a many to one relationship from where it is coming. E.g. A Programme has many walk categories, walks, many days, many walk leaders, but a day (date) can only appear once in a programme, a date can only have many walk category but a walk category can only have one date. A walk can only be owned by one walk leader.

Data modelling is an established method of defining your application and how it is used from its data prospective.

I have already looked at the many deployments from the web, and felt there was some overlap, hence my writing to you.

I have tried the demo but the current data fields, roles and rules behind those data fields do not meet my purpose. Is it possible to subsitute your current names and add more data properties to Events and Appointments. Assuming that I would subsitute an Event for a Programme Schedule and Services would equal walks and Appoitments would equal walk days and offered walks. I have not matched this totally.

But perhaps your programme developers who understand the underlying data model can see if what I want is acheivable.

I am trying to use the link you gave me to simulate how I might like to use it to see if there is a close fit.

But it seems to timeout before I can even set up the items I want before I get to actually trying to schedule.

Is it possible to extend this.
