We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!

We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.

You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.

While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.

We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.

Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!

Submit form to existing table

    HI

I have an existing table created and in use and I need a way to have a front end form that will create a new entry in the existing table.

The existing table has users assigned who build their own lists of data and I need a form they give their clients to submit details to the table.

I thought from the description of the form integrations this would be possible but I can not find a way to make this happen. It seems I have to create a table from a form directly which then imposes a lot of editing restrictions.

My expectations were that the integration would allow me to create a form with fields to match an existing table's fields and insert a new record by mapping the form fields to the data in similar way form integrations happen with Google sheets.

is there a way to make this happen? Thanks

    Hello Christopher

The Formidable Forms Integration for wpDataTables add-on allows you only to create tables from existing Formidable Forms on your website.

It can't work in the opposite direction, so if you create a table from an existing Formidable Form, you would be able to use that form on front-end, and your users would be able to fill that form. Data they enter would appear in the table, and that is it. There's no editing for Formidable Forms based tables, and the only way to add new data is to use the form.

Creating tables from Google Spreadsheets (any linked sources for that matter) provides only a view of the data, but these tables also can't be editable. Editable tables are Gravity Forms based tables, manual, imported and SQL query based tables.

    Kind Regards,
