I am setting up my Amelia Booking Calendar on my bilingual website (English & German). Everything works quite well and supports the language Plugin I am using (qTranslate-X Plugin).
Unfortunately, I cannot find any subject, how I can set up the automatic e-mail notifications in the chosen language. I would like to have the email notification to be in English when booked via the English version and the notification in German when booked via the German version of the website.
Is there a way of switching the language with notifications?
I am sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately something like this is not possible with the plugin's built-in features.
Only static strings in Amelia can be translated by multilingual plugins. At the moment, dynamic strings (names, descriptions, email templates, etc.) cannot be translated by these plugins.
The only idea I can think of is that you handle two Amelia licenses (you would have a multi-domain license for this), and do two different installations, one with the notifications in English and the other with the notifications in German. If you point both installations to the same Google Calendar account, the reservations for each one will occupy the space in the same Google calendar and the other facility will not show that space as available. One of the drawbacks of this solution that I propose to you will be that the only way to view all the reservations will be through Google Calendar since each installation will only show the reservations that were made in their respective language. Maintenance will also be more complicated.
I tell you that I evaluated more than 30 appointment plugins and none of the ones I evaluated contemplated that type of feature, which would be quite desirable for someone who runs a multilanguage site. I think that in short, that would be a rather complicated functionality to implement because suppose that they duplicate the email messages to working in another language. What would happen then if someone needs to manage a site with 3 languages? I think you should look for an alternative solution.
Thank you both for your response! I really appreciate the great support which is provided here!
For now I will use the easiest solution and add a simple bilingual notification (as shown in the image). As soon as the website goes further I agree with @Melvin Brea, that there has to be an alternative solution with another individual booking system.
For now, thank you for all your help. Question completed.
You're welcome Philipp, glad I could be of service.
Melvin, thank you for your assistance here.
We have some ideas about the integration with WMPL, and it's being developed. I don't have any details on this, but it will become available relatively soon.
