We've had customer complaints when they are purchasing multiple events, about having to fill in their details  for each event they select.  I understand that once they login to the customer panel those fields are pre-populated.

We've been using the "send a link" access to the customer panel but as this adds too many steps for a customer just to be able to have pre-populated fields we will swap to the "password" login.

Question 1:  how can our current clients generate/receive their password?

Question 2:  for new customers, will enabling Settings/role Settings/customer/Automatically create Amelia Customer user  provide them with a customer panel password?

Note:  this wouldn't be a issue if clients could add multiple events to the shopping basket  :)

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Miriam,

Question 1: When you enable this option, and customers access the panel via the link in their emails for the first time they should be having the set password option there.

Question 2: That option is for creating a WP user for the Amelia customer automatically when someone books an appointment in Amelia. So a WP user would be created for the customer with the Amelia customer user role if that option is enabled. They could login to the panel with the WP credentials as well in this case. If this option is disabled, customers will need to access the panel via a link in their email notification and the first time they access it they will need to set a password for them there, and later on they can login to the panel using their email/password.

Note: I hope this will be possible in the future in Amelia , but for now it isn't planned so I can't say for sure if and when it could be implemented, unfortunately.

    Thanks for the info.

I'm testing this and find it not particularly intuitive for end customers. Usually when you purchase something online you have the option to create an account on payment.

We're using Woo - so what I've tried is for the customer to sign up at Checkout so they automatically get sent a password/login.  I updated the Customer user role with Amelia customer capabilities - but this still doesn't allow the customer to use that login for the customer panel. Is there a way around this?

    Thanks

    You are welcome, Miriam.

Only if the customer in Amelia is connected to a WordPress user (that has an Amelia Customer role) they can login to the Amelia customer panel with their WP credentials . The customer can be connected to a WP user manually when you open/edit the customer in Amelia, or automatically if the option is enabled in Amelia ROles settings.

If customers book while logged in to WordPress - with their Woo accounts, and the option for automatically creating a customer in Amelai Roles settings is enabled the customer created in Amelia should be connected to that WP user so they can use their WP credentials to login to the panel as well.

Unfortunately, there isn't another way of accessing the panel/creating password there.

Thank you for your patience Marija -- I think we're almost there.

So now I have it set so new customers make an account on Woo checkout.  They get 2 roles, customer & Amelia customer and can access the Customer Panel with the password they are sent - perfect!

However when an existing Amelia customer now makes a purchase, they make an account at checkout but are only assigned the role of customer, meaning they cannot use their password with the customer panel.  For them I have to manually add the Amelia customer role to their profile then link them in Amelia.  Is there a way around this??

    Thanks again

As a work around, we're going to delete all customers with no future appointments/events so they're automatically setup with a password next time they purchase.  We only have a few clients with future bookings do can manage that manually.

    Hello Miriam,

    You  are welcome.

You can try this - when these customers that are created book an appointment in Amelia while logged in to WP, and the option Automatically create Amelia Customer user    in Amelia -> Roles settings is enabled, the Amelia customer user role should be added to that WP user in the process , so the customer created in Amelia at that point should be connected to the WP user and have the same credentials for the panel.
