OpenSSL Errors

    Hey TMSPlugins,

I love the new feature of connecting my tables to the Google Spreadsheet API, however, occasionally, all the tables break due to this error:

"Error: OpenSSL unable to sign data"

"Warning: openssl_sign(): supplied key param cannot be coerced into a private key in /home/******/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wpdatatables/lib/firebase/php-jwt/src/JWT.php on line 209"

If I remove the Google Service Account in the settings and then paste in the exact same information from the JSON file, it works again. However, it would be good to avoid this entirely.

Can this please be looked into?

    Thanks,
    Riley

    Hello Riley

The fix for the issue will be included in the next update, and until then you can go to wp-content/plugins/wpdatatables/source/ folder, and replace the file class.wdtgooglesheets.php with the one attached to my response.

It still needs to be tested a bit more, but it should resolve the problem.

    Kind Regards,

It is impossible to work with your plugin.

The solution proposed by you in this thread, is of NO use, it does not work, I have already replaced the class.wdtgooglesheets.php file but it has not solved anything.

It is impossible to work with wpDataTables V. 3.4.3, every time I try to edit a page on my site, even if it is a blog page that has nothing to do with its tables or graphs, it throws the following error: Fatal error: Uncaught WDTException: [0]: "Too Many Requests" thrown in /home/customer/www/xxxxx.com/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wpdatatables/source/class.wdtgooglesheets.php on line 130.

Sometimes the error appears on line 126.

It just makes you want to sit down and cry and think about the possibility of starting all over again with a plugin other than wpDataTables.

I have only three plugins installed on my SiteGround hosted website: Akimet, Elementor Pro (v. 3.3.0), and wpDataTables.

PHP version 7.4.18 and I have also tried with version 8.0.5.
    WordPress version 5.7.2

But nothing matters, the same error always comes up over and over again.

It is absolutely frustrating and discouraging.

Please believe that you have a solution to this error, please I beg, implore and plead.

    Hello Eliana.

Sorry to hear you're not satisfied with the plugin. The issue Riley had in this ticket is not the same as yours.

From the error message you posted here, it seems you're using Google Spreadsheets - API method to create tables.

Google Sheets API has a quota limit. It's limited to 500 requests per 100 seconds per project, and 100 requests per 100 seconds per user.

    https://developers.google.com/sheets/api/limits

That quota can be increased, but that requires an additional charge in Google (increasing the quota is not free). Another way would be to use the old method without the API

Our developers are working on this, and we'll try to come up with a better solution for one of our updates, without the need to pay Google for increasing the quota, but as this limitation is coming from Google, I don't have high hopes that it will be resolved any time soon.

    Wowww gentlemen, I love you.

Your plugin is wonderful, but far from that you are the people, warm, attentive, friendly and very formal.

I know that this can only be seen and read as flattery, but they really deserve it, there are few companies that really get to be so proactive and decisive with the problems or concerns of their customers (this can only be transformed into more customers for you ... and all satisfied)

Regardless of whether the problem solves it or not, the mere fact of having a response (also quick) from you, is not only incredible and unexpected, but it is also a motivator to continue

It really makes the day very happy, even those that are difficult for me at this moment in history in my country, anyway.

Thank you very much for your attentive, kind and timely response, it is clear to me that the error occurs due to an insufficiency in the Google quota or free layer, which does not depend on you and is out of your hands, super clear that point.

Certainly with my economy I can't afford to pay an additional fee to google, (sometimes I can't even have enough money for a cup of coffee)

But that there is the possibility of doing it in a different way, as in the link that you here in this reference answer, is great news for me, unknown and ignored until now.

I suppose that what I have to sacrifice in this situation is a waiting time of between 5 to 15 minutes for the changes made in the google sheets to be assimilated by this wonderful plugin and finally reflected on my websites, well, it is a A price that I can afford, since it is not something that should reflect results in real time and 15 minutes is a good figure.

My total thanks and admission to you.

I wish you the most beautiful of days.
