We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!
We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.
You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.
While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.
We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.
Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!
When I try to create a new table using google sheets, the data from my google sheets table is not the same as the data displayed on wpdatatables.
The column titles show correctly and so does the data but only when I change all the column data types to "string" values. But I can only set one column to a "string" value when I go to produce a chart based off this table. When I change the other column types to integers, the values all change to zeros. (The data involves currencies and needs to be an integer)
** The attached screenshot is the table when all columns have their column data types set to "integer." (They only show correctly if column data types are set to "string.")
Hello Geoffrey
Thank you for your purchase.
The first column is properly saved as an integer (you only need to remove the thousand separator from column's settings), but the other two columns don't seem to be integers, but floats.
When I take a look at your spreadsheet, the issue may be coming from the formatting applied. Try using this spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yMVEcUwkgnSRFQCM6bBT4bfO70NGOSqs74jcsskl81c/edit?usp=sharing
That should cause no issues with wpDataTables, and you can add $ as a prefix in second and third column. Also, make sure the number format in wpDataTables settings are the same as they are in the Google Spreadsheet.

Using your google sheets link, the table now shows the values but with the incorrect decimal.

Hi again Geoffrey
Did you go into wpDataTables settings, and change the number format to what you need it to be?

Yes I changed it to an integer. Like I said, the values only show up correctly if the numbers are all set to "string" but I can not have every value as a string since I will be inhibit me from creating a chart
Hello again Geoffrey
I don't mean if you changed it to Integer in column settings. You said the numbers came through in an integer column but the decimal separator is wrong.
Go to wpDataTables Settings and change the format of the numbers:
That has to work with the Spreadsheet I shared with you.

I'm having the same issue again with my updated chart in one of the columns. The values in my "Quotes" column were showing fine last night and now they all show a "zero" value. When I re-create the chart the column preview shows the correct values, but once I create the chart the values show "zero" again.

(see "quote" column)***
Hi again Geoffrey
It seems you have $ as the prefix in those columns.
Since that symbol is not an integer nor a float, the data is returned as invalid. You need to remove the $ sign from "Quotes" and "Holdings" columns, and only leave the data (floats). Then, in wpDataTables' column settings, you can add $ as a prefix.

Ok, thank you, I should be able to fix that.
One more thing, is it possible to give my table a condition where if the value in the "holdings" column is zero than the entire row of that information is not displayed. So that the only rows which are displayed are those that have a value greater than zero in the holdings column. I hope you understand my explanation.

Hello again Geoffrey
This can only be achieved with Advanced Filtering, adding a custom row CSS class to the column where the condition is 0.
However, that would not be a very good solution, because CSS would only hide the row from the screen, but it would still be there, so if you are displaying 10 rows, and you have 10 rows that have 0 in the "Holdings" column, the first page in the table would be blank.
Since the data is being pulled from the Google Spreadsheet, a better approach may be if you create another sheet (tab) in the same spreadsheet, and then pull only those rows where "Holdings" consists of a number higher than 0. Then, you would be able to create a new wpDataTable using the URL of that second tab, and display the data from it, coming already filtered in the form.
