We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!
We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.
You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.
While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.
We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.
Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!
Where can i change the translation and put some words to? In Locotranslate i couldn't find it
Hello Peter,
You can change strings in the plugin by using the translation method, but in your case you would change strings in the same language, you wouldn't translate them to another one.
Strings can be changed using POEDIT or Loco Translate for example. If you want to use POEDIT then this is the instruction:
1. Download Amelia from TMS Store
2. Unzip the downloaded file.
3. Download and install POEDIT.
4. Open the program and open the file from the extracted folder on your computer ameliabooking/languages/en_US/wpamelia-en_US.po.
5. Change the strings you want.
6. Save the translation.
7. Go to ameliabooking/languages/en_US/ folder and copy these two files - wpamelia-en_US.po and wpamelia-en_US.mo back to your website to the location ../wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/languages/en_US/.
I am not sure how you can't see the strings in Loco translate - check if there are some options/settings there that should be changed. The translations in Amelia are at location ../wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/languages
If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to open a new ticket and we will gladly help out.
okay - but in poedit there isn‘t the the phrase that i wanted to change...
Could you tell me on what string are you referring to?
in the moment i´m searching for the phrase in: am-select-service-title
Are you referring to the Please select service: string? If yes, the string can be found in the .po files of Amelia, please look at the attachment. You can open the .po file at location ../wp-content/plugins/ameliabooking/languages/en_US/ in a text editor and you will see this string in there.
look, on the page there will be printed out: "Bitte auswählen Dienstleistung:"
this is completely wrong. The right term is: "Bitte wählen Sie eine Dienstleistung aus"
but i couldnt find this term in the german po file.
Hello Peter,
That is the Please select service from Amelia, and since it is translated to German it is in the German files, if it wasn't in the files the translation wouldn't be shown on the front-end. So , you need to check in the translation tool you use how to find it - I believe there are options there for strings that are not translated at all to your language - to translate them, and it should have an option to update the already translated strings. But please note that the strings that contain service and employee are combined of these two strings service/employee + the rest of the strings, because of the Labels setting in Amelia -> Settings, so maybe this is what is causing the confusion. So, the Please select service string is combined of translation for Please select + what you provide for the Service as a separate string in the translations.
okay - i´ve been looking not for cobinations, my fault, but, when it is a combination of two strings - than it is not suitable to German, because we never had the noun at the end of a sentence.
Hello Peter,
Unfortunately, at the moment that can't be changed, because of the labels in settings. We are aware that in some translations that can cause an issue and we will see if there is any solution to this in the future versions of Amelia.
