Other than conditional formatting, when will you create feature that allows basic text formatting like bold, text color, background color and super/subscripts?

This seems to be a really basic feature and it is frustrating that it is not available.

Regards and thank you for your consideration,

    Mendy

    Hello Mendy

    Thank you for your suggestion.

These functions are already available in our new table type - Simple table, but that table type is quite limited in other ways:

    • These tables are not saved in the database like manual tables, but instead their data is stored in database table wp_wpdatatables_rows. So, pulling data from the database is a bit more complex because this database table stores data in JSON format, not like manual tables (columns * rows).
    • There is no front-end editing, sorting, search, filtering or pagination in this table type.
    • Creating charts from this table type is not yet possible.
    • You can’t use foreign keys, placeholders or conditional formatting, but each cell can be formatted separately.
    • Setting border types and thickness is not included.
    • Add-on can’t be used with Simple tables.

You can also style the contents of a cell if you use HTML editor:

You can see all options from TinyMCE in that editor:
