Hello I would like to know why it is saying error when I try to send a test email from Amelia to myself. I am currently using woocommerce as my form of payment on the Amelia site does that mean that clients won't get emails directly from Amelia and woo commerce will take over because I really do like the feature of being able to notify my clients of them having an appointment and the whole birthday reminder message and also the sms notifications I do not want it to all go to waste simply because I'm using woo commerce as my payment method.
Using WooCommerce as a payment option will not cause any issues with mailing, and Amelia's email templates will still be sent even if you're using WooCommerce.
Issue with email notifications could be caused by several reasons:
1. Your hosting provider is blocking all 3rd party settings, and only allowing their SMTP (or other) settings.
2. Your website has PHP version less than 7
3. The credentials are not correct
4. There's something else blocking the notifications from being sent.
5. If you're using Gmail, make sure you've enabled "Allow less secure apps" in your Google Account.
Please check these points, and let me know if you were able to resolve the issue.
If you're not able to resolve the issue, please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue.
We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party.
You can write credentials here, just make sure to enable the PRIVATE response, as the ticket is public.
hello there I am still getting test email can’t be sent and there is still an error I’m not sure how you were able to do this please could you just explain again or what I’m doing wrong ! I’ve done the google allow more apps thing but still test email cannot be sent for some reason .
Well I got it to work by using my personal email credentials. So, the issue is related to your credentials or Google Account permissions.
When I use my Gmail account, the email was sent successfully. Please double-check if you're using the correct email and password, and if you are verify "Allow less secure apps" is enabled once again.
There's really nothing more to it than correct credentials.
