Hello, I am unable to configure a gmail account in the Notifications Settings. I have tried many combinations to no avail. I have referenced and followed the instructions here but they don't work: https://wpamelia.com/documentation/
Issue with email notifications could be caused by several reasons:
1. Your hosting provider is blocking all 3rd party settings, and only allowing their SMTP (or other) settings.
2. Your website has PHP version less than 7
3. The credentials are not correct
4. There's something else blocking the notifications from being sent.
5. Since you're using Gmail, please check if you've enabled "Allow less secure apps" in your Google Account.
Please check these points, and let me know if you were able to resolve the issue. If you're not able to resolve the issue, please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party.

Thank you for your reply. I have figured out what the problem is. I just needed to change the first setting, which is MAIL SERVICE to PHP Mail. From there, it only asks for the email and password. Hopefully, this information will help you with a future client.
I'm glad to hear that worked, Chad, but please keep an eye on this.
PHP mail is generally not recommended by us, because most email providers treat email sent by PHP mail as Spam. If that's not the case with your website - awesome, but I need to warn you that there's a chance of this happening.
Thank you for letting me. Unfortunately, the settings that are in the Amelia documentation don't work. Please let me know if I am missing something.
SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) – In this article, we show how to configure SMTP mail service for Gmail, but you can set it up for any other outgoing service that supports SMTP for a mail client. When you select this option, four inputs will appear – you need to populate them in to configure SMTP properly. A Google SMTP example:
SMTP Host – smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port – 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
SMTPSecure – SSL, TLS or Disabled
SMTP Username – Your Gmail address
SMTP Password – Your Gmail password
For Gmail, it is also necessary also to turn on the “Allow less secure apps” option in your Gmail account.
I have entered in the settings as per you suggestion. I have attached a screen shot. Unfortunately, these settings do not work. Please let me know what I should do.
The only thing I can do here is test your website with my Gmail credentials, since I know they work 100%.

Hi again Chad
I can see that you copied the section from our documentation, but I can't see what you entered, so I can't say if it's correct or not.
For example, in my local installation I'm also using Gmail, so:
Host: smtp.gmail.com
Port: 587
Secure: TLS
Username: my gmail email address
Password: my gmail email password
And it's working fine.
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković
