We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!
We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.
You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.
While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.
We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.
Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!
Hello
How does a user with the 'Amelia Employee' type sync their calendar with Google or Outlook?
The help section (https://wpamelia.com/employees/) says that this can be done from the backend, but it appears as though users with 'Amelia Employee' accounts cannot access this section.
There doesn't appear to be a way for them to sync from the employee dashboard either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jack
Hi Jack,
Thank you for your message.
Google events are not created in Amelia, their time slots are blocked for booking if they have status Busy in Google and when the option Remove Google Calendar Busy Slots is enabled. If the time slots of your Google events are still bookable in Amelia please check the bellow.
Amelia employees can connect only one calendar. You can check if the Gooogle calendar is connected to the employee if you create one Approved appointment with this employee in Amelia, and that appointment is created in the Google calendar as well. The Google Busy events are not created in Amelia, only the time slots of these events are blocked for booking in Amelia, if the option Remove Google Calendar Busy Slots in Amelia -> Settings -> Integrations -> Google Calendar Settings is enabled.
Hi Den
Thanks for your response.
I think you may have misunderstood my question, it is not with the functionality of the sync itself but actually how do employees set this up?
I know in that in the employees tab on the backend there is the 'sign in with Google' option, but how do the employees themselves actually get to that button to click it and link their account?
Since when you try to access the wordpress dashboard with user type 'amelia employee' it says access not allowed.
Does that make sense?
Best
Jack
Hi Jack,
You need to create a WordPress user with "Amelia Employee" user role, and assign that WordPress user to each corresponding employee in employee's profile.
After that, the employees will receive an automated email from WordPress where they can configure their password for their site, so they will be able to log in and connect to their Google Calendar.
