We're Moving to a New Support Platform – Starting June 1st!
We’re excited to let you know that starting June 1st, we’ll be transitioning to a new support system that will be available directly on our product websites – Amelia, wpDataTables, and Report Builder. In fact, the new support platform is already live for Amelia and wpDataTables, and we encourage you to reach out to us there.
You'll always be able to reach us through a widget in the bottom right corner of each website, where you can ask questions, report issues, or simply get assistance.
While we still do not offer live support, a new advanced, AI-powered assistant, trained on our documentation, use cases, and real conversations with our team, is there to help with basic to intermediate questions in no time.
We're doing our best to make this transition smooth and hassle-free. After June 1st, this current support website will redirect you to the new "Contact Us" pages on our product sites.
Thanks for your continued support and trust – we’re excited to bring you an even better support experience!
Dear.
We wish to start selling group sessions on our Amelia-based website. The idea would be to allow up to 8 participants for a fixed tarif / participant, on a given date.
It seems that through Amelia, we could set this up in 2 different manners :
1. create an Amelia "Event"
2. create an Amelia "Service" and allow up to 8 participants
=> what's the best way to do it? What are the impacts of option 1. vs option 2. (and vice versa)?
Thanks for your clarifications. Regards.
Pierre (and Marina)
Hello Pierre
Both options are equally good, it just depends on what you prefer.
If you go with the Event, you can choose how far ahead the event can be booked, and when it will close. If you go for a Service, you set the maximum capacity, enable "Allow booking below minimum capacity" and disable "Allow booking above maximum capacity" in Appointment settings, and your customers would be able to book the service until the max capacity is reached.
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković

Thanks Aleksander. That's clear.
We've tried both but it seems that, by creating it through a "Service" mode, we can not set up a specific date and time for the event. Apparently the whole calendar is open for booking.
Whereas what we need is to open a specific data and time for a workshop, and allow all participants to book only for this specific data and time.
I guess I'm doing something wrong, but can't seem to find what. Is there any specific set up to do ?
On the "Event" mode, it seems to work just fine though
Hello again Marina and Pierre
The availability of services is defined by the availability of the employees assigned to that service.
So, to make the service available only on certain dates, you need to access your employee's profile, remove his working hours and add Special Days.

Perfect, it's now all very clear. Thanks.
I believe for our use case, the "Event" mode is more appropriate. Problem solved. Many thanks
Glad I could be of service, Marina
