The website server has been updated to php4. The notifications have stopped sending to either the customer or the employee. Updating an Amelia user caused a 502 timeout error. when I traced the path I found that it was amelia's mail handler that was causing the issue. Along with the notifications not sending anymore (even the test emails dont send) they all just sit and hang.

    Hello Devin

Issue with email notifications could be caused by several reasons:

    1. Your hosting provider is blocking all 3rd party settings, and only allowing their SMTP (or other) settings.

    2. Your website has PHP version less than 7

    3. The credentials are not correct

    4. There's something else blocking the notifications from being sent.

    5. If you're using Gmail, you also need to enable "Allow less secure apps" in your Google account

Please check these points, and let me know if you were able to resolve the issue.

If you're not able to resolve the issue, please provide me a temporary WP-admin login for your site where this happens, so we could log in and take a look ‘from the inside’ as that’s the most efficient way to see and resolve the issue. We do not interfere with any data or anything else except for the plugin (in case that’s a production version of the site), and of course we do not provide login data to third party.

You can write credentials here, just make sure to enable the PRIVATE response, so no one else sees them except for us.

Side-note, PHP v4.x.x is over 10 years old, and the plugin can't work with it. You maybe updated something else to v4, but Amelia does require PHP version to be at least 5.7 in order to work, but we recommend using PHP v7 and above.

    Kind Regards,

    I didn’t customize it.

Good morning. I don't mean to press, but this has been going on for a while. And this ticket has been going on for over four day now with no resolution in site. Im using the Amelia plugin for scheduling and employee project management, but its not notifying me to web submittals.

It appears that I get a reply per day and that's just not fast enough. If this isn't addressed and repaired quickly, I'll need to uninstall the plugin and find an alternative. As I fear this is actively costing me both time and potential leads.

I have given you access to the site as an admin and I haven't seen anyone login yet. Please reply and thank you for your attention.

    Hello Devin

We do not provide live support, and we answer all tickets in the order in which they arrive, not prioritizing anyone.

I did log into your website, that's how I showed you the screenshot of how Amelia's Notifications are not supposed to look like. Like I said, all these notifications should not be scheduled notifications, but sent automatically.

If you didn't modify the plugin, there's probably something else on your website (theme or plugin) changing the behavior of Amelia. If that's the case, we cannot debug the plugin with just wp-admin credentials, but we'll need your permission to temporarily deactivate all other plugins, and change the theme to see if the issue is coming from a conflict with something else.

When I try to send a test email through Easy WP SMTP, it just hangs, like in Amelia's test emails, so it may be coming from this plugin.

Also, we would need FTP credentials, so we can debug Amelia and see what's wrong.

Please provide me those credentials (keep in mind this is a public ticket, so enable the PRIVATE response), or if you're not able to do that - can you clone your website?

If yes - I'll ask you to install the Duplicator plugin. It will generate a couple of files which you can send me (along with the log-in credentials), and then I can create an exact copy of your website, see what the issue is and try to resolve it.

Please note that the files will be too large to attach to the ticket, so you can upload them via wetransfer.com and just send me the link.

    Kind Regards,
