When I am trying to update to latest version it is functioning at the front end. But I can not open the admin site, at all, the server responds with 503. I have tried several times, and I have tried to empty cache before updating

I'm not sure I understand the issue. When you updated wpDataTables to the latest version, you could see everything in front-end, but you cannot access back-end of the site anymore?
Or just wpDataTables in back-end?
Please go to wp-content/plugins/wpdatatables/controllers/wdt_functions.php and delete this line:
set_site_transient('update_plugins', null);From line 861.
Then delete cache from your website and browser, and let me know if that fixes the issue.
