Previously purchased from envato, but purchased yesterday to get support. after 24 hrs not updating from 2.5 to 3.0 and therefore can't use Powerfull Filters which I also purchased yesterday. On settings page, no switch to protect existing tables, so don't want to go down ftp path. How do I update to 3.0 and get use of powerfull filters. Also in imported excel table, I have times (duration) swum by swimmers and need sorted and filtered. How should time durations be set up, e.g. 59.66 and 01:03.87. Table current available on "Diving" at above related URL.

If you don't have "Prevent deleting tables from the database", the safest option is to update the plugin using the FTP (manual) method.
You should log into our store http://store.tms-plugins.com/ and download the latest version of both wpDataTables (v3.0.3) and Powerful Filters (v1.1) from there. Then you can follow this tutorial to update both of them:
1.) Use FTP to open /yourwordpressfolder/wp-content/plugins
2.) Delete existing wpdatatables folder.
3.) Upload the previously downloaded wpdatatables folder through FTP into "plugins" folder (unzip it)
4.) Go to WP-admin panel, open Plugins section.
5.) Deactivate wpDataTables Plugin, and then activate it again.
6.) Clear server and browser cache
Clearing server and browser cache is kind of mandatory for v3.0.3, since it contains some updates needed for WordPress 5.5.
