Once I have created a service, assigned it to an employee and added the employee working hours for the specific service, the service is available for the clients in the booking calendar for a whole year.
How can I set an end date of a specific service? I know there is the "Period available for booking in advance" under the "Settings" tab in the service configuration. However, it only allows a client to book a service in advance as far as specified in the mentioned setting.
I want to be able to set a start and end date of a service. For example, I'll be adding 4-week blocks of services with certain times. One block of services, say, 4 Mondays at 9.30 am, next 4 Mondays of the same service at 11.30 am and next 4 Mondays of the same service at 5.30 pm. I want all of this to be available in the calendar.
Something like this is available in our Events feature, but for Services it would be rather cumbersome
You would need to go to your employees panel, and add special days for your employee, defining which services, on which days, and at which time will they be working.
Thanks for your reply. That is exactly how it's currently configured on my client's website and for us this way is rather cumbersome, to be honest. I didn't mean the ability to set up a specific service start/end date from services panel itself because indeed it would be inconvenient if there was more than one employee.
However, if there was a possibility to assign a service to an employee and optionally specify a start and end date that would be a great solution. Currently:
Let's say someone has booked an appointment (service) 2 months in advance. After a month the employee to whom the service has been assigned decides to change their schedule (time and day). The employee has to contact the client and ask if he or she is OK with the rescheduled date/time. If not they have to reschedule again or issue a refund. This is cumbersome.
I can realise that in any scenario an employee can make a decision to change date/time of a service. However, if the mentioned possibility was available, employees would be able to create their own, well designed blocks of services (3 weeks, 4 weeks, etc.) instead of a service being assigned and going on and on and on unless you specify a special days range which would have to be remembered to amend at a later stage.
Since there's no possibility to set start/end date of a service in Employee panel/section, I don't seem to be able to exclude one specific service on a given day. For example, every Tuesday there are Service 1 and Service 2 available for booking. I have to exclude Service 1, let's say, for the next 3 Tuesdays, leaving the Service 2 in every Tuesday in the booking calendar.
I think I might be able to save you time looking for a solution. I've just removed an employee all "Work Hours" and only added "Special Days" for a specific service. That should do.
May I, however, get back to you again in case it doesn't work for my scenario?

Can it not be improved?

Hello Richard
At the moment it cannot be improved like that. We do have plans to increase the overall UX, but something like this is not yet under development.
Please feel free to add it as a feature suggestion on this page, though. More times a feature receives a vote, more likely it will be implemented.
