I was sent an email telling me to download an update for Amelia, but I cannot find a way to tell whether I need to manually install it or not. There does not seem to be a version number anywhere that I can find, nor is there a version number on the email telling me to update.
I have activated the Wordpress Plugin by entering my purchase code, and the KB indicates that this means that the plugin will update automatically. How do I tell whether I have the most recent version installed?
Also, where do I find documentation of which new features/bug fixes are included in this update? The email says "In order to see all the improvements we made, including new features and bug fixes, please update your Amelia plugin by downloading it from the button bellow" - if the plugin did automatically install the update, how do I find these things? The documentation I found inside the zip file the email linked to is for generic setup and does not seem to contain version specific information.
The newest version of Amelia is 2.9 and you can see what version is your Amelia at the moment on the WP -> Plugins page. You can check out our changelog with new features and bug fixes here.
When you activate Amelia with your purchase code in Amelia -> Settings -> Activation, you should have the auto-update option on the Plugins page for Amelia when the new version is released. If you don't have the auto-update option you can manually update the plugin by following these instructions:
2) Delete Amelia plugin from WordPress Plugins page
3) Click on Add new on Plugins page
4) Click on Upload plugin on Plugins page
5) Choose previously downloaded ameliabooking zip file
6) When uploading is done, please Activate Amelia plugin
7) Clear server and browser cache.
Please note that if you delete plugin from Plugins page you WILL NOT lose your data, because it is already saved in your database.
Please note that our plugin have a size of around 8 MB so if yo are not able to upload the plugin through WordPress plugins page, then you need to increase following:
upload_max_file size,
post_max_size ,
max_execution_time
You should be able to find these values in your php.ini file or on your hosting panel. If you can't find it yourself please ask your hosting provider to provide it.
Thank you very much for your guidance. I have bookmarked the new features page for future reference. The update did not automatically install, but I was able to easily update the plugin through the WP plugin page that you pointed me toward. All of my questions have been addressed - thank you !
