Hey there, Awesome Customers!

Just a heads up: We'll be taking a breather to celebrate International Workers' Day (May 1st and 2nd - Wednesday and Thursday) and Orthodox Easter from Good Friday (May 3rd) through Easter Monday (May 6th). So, from May 1st to May 6th, our team will be off enjoying some well-deserved downtime.

During this time, our customer support will be running on a smaller crew, but don't worry! We'll still be around to help with any urgent matters, though it might take us a bit longer than usual to get back to you.

We'll be back in action at full throttle on May 7th (Tuesday), ready to tackle your questions and requests with gusto!

In the meantime, you can explore our documentation for Amelia and wpDataTables. You'll find loads of helpful resources, including articles and handy video tutorials on YouTube (Amelia's YouTube Channel and wpDataTables' YouTube Channel). These gems might just have the answers you're looking for while we're kicking back.

Thanks a bunch for your understanding and support!

Catch you on the flip side!

Warm regards,

TMS

    Hi

The combination of WpDataTables plus Gravity Forms Integration and Report builder is working well for us.  It is enabling us to have users input data via Gravity forms, store and display that in tables and then download a formatted xlsx based on a template that has lots of formatting.

We now would like to create more complex reports/tables with interrelated logic. That logic would include things like ( If cell (row 1, column  A) of table 1 ="XXX" then value in  cell (row 10, Column B) ="YYY".  Also some function similar to VLookup.

We can see that WPDataTAbles is a long way from being able to work with logical statements in its tables. ( that would be a great future addition!)

Therefore, we are looking for a work around where we build the logic into the xlsx template and then have it populated by Report builder. We'd like the option to produce a pdf of the xlsx as if the xlsx file had been printed using the page setup/print stettings as per the xlsx template.

Ideally we'd like the font end users to generate the report and then be able to view it on screen with an option to  download as a pdf rather than just xlsx. This way we could build sophisticated logic within the template as part of our intellectual property but protect it by only providing users view access and or download of pdfs.

Do you have any plans in this area? or Do you know of a way we could create pdfs of the xlsx docs that Report builder creates for view/ and download?

Longer term, are you thinking of adding any  logic type functions(IF/THEN?ELSE) or  Vlookup type functions within and between WPDataTAbles?

    Thanks

    Chris

    Hello Chris

As you said yourself - something like this is not possible with the plugin's built-in features. Also, exporting the report in PDF format is not yet included, but our developers will be working on it for the future versions of the plugin. I cannot say when it will be implemented, though.

At the moment what you're looking for to achieve can only be done as a custom solution, which we do not support. If I had any similar tasks successfully completed before, I would've gladly shared the details with you, but unfortunately I don't.

We will also be working on adding features similar to VLookup, but that's not something that's going to happen any time soon.

    Kind Regards,
