    I just discovered that Amelia doesn't support taking booking deposits.


    Ouch! It never even occurred to me that that feature might not be available - I never checked before buying a license. Hopefully, they will include it soon. It was confirmed on August 2019 that it was "on the roadmap" but work hadn't yet started on it. It's good to know that we'll get it eventually.

    So anyway, what workarounds are people using for taking booking deposits right now? How about creating a service called "Appointment" and setting the price to only the cost of the deposit, the remainder of the appointment cost to be obtained from the customer after their in-person appointment? Could that work? Does anyone have any better ideas?

    Any advice would be much appreciated!

    Hello Daniel,

    Unfortunately, deposits aren't possible in Amelia with its current built-in features yet. But it is in our to-do list and it should be implemented in one of the following updates of the plugin. Can't say exactly when that will be, unfortunately.

    We usually recommend this workaround. For example if your service cost 20$ and if you want to set deposit of 20% to pay online and rest onsite, you can make a service where you will set a price of 4$ (which is 20% of 20$) and then explain in service title and description (description is seen only when using the Catalog view of Amelia) how much is the real price of this service.
