I had an email with the following instructions from you: "
We're reaching out to let you know that the new update for your Appointment & Event Booking Specialist - Amelia is now available. There was a download button which I clicked and some files were downloaded to my computer. Once was an instruction list. On it there was a website (Codecanyon) which would give a .zip file for the new version of Amelia. I could find Amelia eventually but it was asking for $299. It wasn't a free update. Obviously, because of lockdown I am not in a position (without income) to be purchasing Amelia again. Does this mean we can expect glitches and problems (as I am having now) unless we shell out all that money?
Sorry about that confusion, as I can see you bought Amelia from us, on our website, so no need to visit CodeCanyon for the update. You can download the latest version of Amelia from our store. You received login credentials for the store via email after you purchased Amelia, but you can use the Forgot password option if you can't find the credentials using the email address you used for purchasing Amelia.
You can follow these instructions to update Amelia:
2) Delete Amelia plugin from WordPress Plugins page
3) Click on Add new on Plugins page
4) Click on Upload plugin on Plugins page
5) Choose previously downloaded ameliabooking zip file
6) When uploading is done, please Activate Amelia plugin
7) Clear server and browser cache.
Please note that if you delete plugin from Plugins page you WILL NOT lose your data, because it is already saved in your database.
Please note that our plugin have a size of around 8 MB so if yo are not able to upload the plugin through WordPress plugins page, then you need to increase following:
upload_max_file size,
post_max_size ,
max_execution_time
You should be able to find these values in your php.ini file or on your hosting panel. If you can't find it yourself please ask your hosting provider to provide it.
I'm afraid I'm still not much further along putting the new version of Amelia on to my Word Press Site.
I am on a MAC so some of the terminology you are using is meaningless to me. I don't know what FTP is for instance.
So Far I have downloaded the zip from your store.
I have deleted Amelia Pulg in from WP Plug ins page
When I click on Add new, the opportunity to press the upload plug in disappears within less than a second. Pressed several times with the same result so I'm stuck knowing how to upload and Activate the Plug in.
I managed to get the Amelia lite version on and activated. Is there a way to turn that into the full version I have paid for please?
Also, do I really need the new version or does the old one work just fine and now that I've deleted it will I ever be able to get it back?
I don't have access to the server as far as I know? Unless I've not understood that terminology?
Could you spell it out in baby language for me? I've tried to find a video on your YouTube channel but nothing there and no-one else has done one so perhaps there are others in strife?
You can't turn the Lite version of Amelia into a Full version, unfortunately. You need to deactivate and delete Amelia on the Plugins page and then upload the new version.
The issue that you have with adding new Plugins to your website, that you mentioned the option Upload disappears, is not common and it shouldn't happen. So, you need to contact your hosting provider and tell them that you have troubles adding new plugins on your website (using the Add new plugin option and adding a Zip file of the plugin) and ask them what is the way you need to use for adding new plugins on your website. I am sure they can help out with this matter.

Hello Deborah,
Sorry to hear that.
