I am using Master detail tables to generate a detail page for our herbarium project. The page is generated by going to joseph-banks.org.uk/llp, scrolling down to Dataset and clicking on a wpdatatables row.
The page generated is always https://www.joseph-banks.org.uk/?page_id=5551
however, I would like to be able to create a unique url for each specimen in the collection.
Is this possible with wpdatatables?
Many thanks
Trevor Olsson
Hello Trevor
Thank you for your purchase.
I am sorry to disappoint you, but unfortunately something like this is not possible with the plugin's built-in features.
Our developers will be working on creating something similar in the future, but at the moment, the page is unique for all rows, and if visited directly it will display empty placeholders.
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković

I would like to upvote this feature request, it's pretty important.
When using the Master-detail feature show details in page/post it would be very helpful to have these as a specific url.
E.g. table is at www.mysite.com/table
Entry 1 opens on www.mysite.com/table/entry1 . Or using some other identification option from the form. Maybe in the setting allow to select with field feeds into the detail URL feature.
Thank you for your vote, Dan.
Master-Detail is not designed to work in this way. You can only access the details of a row when you click on a row, not directly. Changing the logic of the add-on, so a specific URL is added to each entry would allow anyone to access that resource and see the details of that row without going through the table.
I will forward your suggestion to our developers, and I hope they'll be able to add it in the future, but I'll kindly ask you to add it as a feature suggestion yourself on this page.
Kind Regards,
Aleksandar Vuković

Hi again Dan
Our developers confirmed that this would be really hard to achieve with Master-Detail, but in the near future you will be able to create a dynamic URL using MySQL query, and to include a dynamic single-cell shortcode in the template.
That's still not available, but our developers are working on it, so it should be included in the near future.
Kind Regards,
